This is my 5-year-old daughter's name. We are of Scottish ancestry so I wanted a Scottish name. My husband chose it out of a book of Celtic names. The'spelling and meaning of the name are beautiful. I know of one other Ainsley. i've heard of one other Ainsley in our town.
It's my name and people have been screwing it up my entire life. Most of them eventually get it, though.
I have a long surname, and Alec's my first name (b. 2012). My mom chose it cos It's short, but you wouldn't beli've the amount of people who've called me "Alex". I'd recommend having this name because people aren't likely to confuse you with an'ther Alec since the name's relatively uncommon.

My 10 month old son is Alec Boyd! We absolutely love the name (my husband actually came up with it) and I think It'sounds strong and handsome. We already get quite a few people saying "Alex" when we tell his name, and of course we have to correct them, so that's a pain, but the good thing is that It's a fairly uncommon name :)
Named my son, Alec, in 2004 and am glad I did! . he's always liked it and It's a good name at every age. Now that he's almost 22, it fits him well because he doesn't like to be average and there are n't a lot of them out there. Alec Baldwin was a slight influence only because I liked his name. We called our son Jaiden after we saw the name Jaden in a newspaper. We added the "i" because we liked the'shortened version Jai. We adopted our son when he was 11 mths old after 5 failed attempts at IVF in 2017 - it has given me goosebumps and joy in my heart to read that it means "God has heard" because he'surely did when he'sent our beautiful son to us!
