I named all three of my sons Adolf. I laugh everyday.
I like the name Adolf. It can be a shorthand form of "A Dolfin" and I really like Dolfins. I even bought a dolfin once before. Put it in my backyard pool! Unfortunately I think it came broken because it wasn't swI'ming around like It'should. It just kind of laid there at the bottom of the pool.
I'met a frog with that name today. Odd fellow. Kept yelling at me about different races of frogs and wore a beige uniform. 10/10 would not buy again
Hurray for April12 2019 and Mar 10 2019. Other names are associated with horror, Charles Manson, Jack the Ripper, Paul Bernardo, and many other murderers and unfortunately many more will probably come. Why have those names not been banned❤️ I wonder, is Adolf still popular in Germany or Austria❤️ Maybe our aversion to this name over here has more to do with hatred and predjudice than Adolf himself; who was indeed a horrible man.
A century ago, this was often a Jewish boy's name - think Adolph Zukor (early Hollywood mogul) and Adolph "Chico" Marx (one of the Marx brothe's). Then'the comparatively gentile (or "goyishe", to use the Jewish term for non-Jews) known as Hitler came along and ruined it. Hmm...two nice Jewish boys and one nasty gentile sharing a forename like this one!
A-doolf is the correct way. I have been bullied for having this name and I hate my parents for naming me this. I wish I hadn't been born why did they do that. My parents suck they thought it would be funny but it Isn't my teache's and classmates look at me weird all the time. Everyone always thinks I'm going to gas them and I hate it. Please don't let anyone else get this name.
I personally don't mind the name Adolf/Adolph. I bought a parrot a year or 2 ago and named him Adolf. I just like the name. If you want to associate names with horrible history then'that's your deal. But as said above, then Jack and Charles should be banned. Hell, I don't like what George Bush did to our country so now I don't like the name George. I agree Adolf Hitler himself did some HORRIBLE things and I'd hope it never happens again... but I do have to give the guy credit. He came from nothing, had a plan and accomplished it... that's more than most Americans or anyone for that matter can say happened in their lives. Lets seperate the present from the past. Not forget about the past, but let it be the past and move on with ourselves.
Banning a name like this would be worse than ever using it again. It would be like sweeping history under the rug and trying to forget the tragedys one man caused an entire race. You cant just shrug off history. It may not resurface for a very long time, but it will be fashionable again. It has a stronger meaning than what people are afraid of.
Also borne by early Hollywood mogul Adolph Zukor and composer Adolph Green - both Jewish, BTW. The German-born BrIt'sh scientist Dr. Hans Adolf Krebs was also Jewish.
I think It's a wonderful, strong name. I actually plan to name my son this.
I think It's a lovely name, only that it was once borne by a monster. The name means "noble, majestic"-- who wouldn't wwant their child to be noble and majestic❤️ A name's powerful, but the individual who bears that name will show the world what it means. As other reviewers have commented, many people still use names of murderers- Henry (like the gluttonous Henry VIII), Mohammad (e.g. Mohammad Pahlavi) , Kim (as in Kim Jong-Il), Josef (e.g. Stalin)... Not that we should forget history of course.

Bruh Bruh Bruh Bruh Bruh Ok then lmao i like che'se
My first name Isn't Adolf but my middle name is, I'm currently 22 and love it. Its one of those inter'sting things you could bring up in need of entertaI'ment. I honestly don't mind. I remember in HS when my history teacher freaked out when he'saw my middle name was Adolf, it was an awkward moment but I was never really picked on as a name doesn't make you into a murderer or whatnot. I'm not entirely sure how different my HS experience would be if my first name was Adolf but I don't see a problem with naming you child Adolf honestly. I think its rather pretty and unique name, But if You're considering naming your child Adolph and are sitting on the fence, make it your child's middle name. Welp that's my experience with the name Adolf.
I can't wait for my daughter to be born so I can call her Adolf.
Why would you name your son Zach❤️ It's stupid! I'm 15 and I play football with ATLEAST 5 Zach/Zack's. Its way to common. Imagine meeting an eighty year old and hearin him say "Hi, my name is Zack", it doesnt go along well with age at all.
i like the name adolf i would never name a kid adolf but it is a nice name
This is a wonderful name. It's my 23 year old daughters name.
I love this name because it reminds me of sensuality
My best friend's name was Adolf. Too bad he died in 1960. Or did he move to South America❤️ I can never remember
I'm called Adolphus so the guys at work call me Adolf, It's ok once you get used to it, can't imagine being called anything else.
I was elected a mayor using the name Adolf in 2004. While it is associated with unspeakable horror, in the hands of othe's it has produced lasting good. The name has always made me look for the good in people and for the best in any situation. Evil has many names.
I knew a guy named Adolf in basic training. Great guy, although he never could dawn a gas mask correctly.
Great name! In the peace years newlyweds were given very large government loans and a quarter was taken off for every child. Instead of importing the third world.. This is what you do when you love your country.
i've named all of my three children Adolf, It'seems like my daughter has gotten a better reception from her peers than my sons have. Whenever the next surprise happens will definitely still name the child Adolf
I think the name Adolf is a wonderful unique name. If I had a son I would name him Adolf
It's a nice historical name, but I would never name my child Napoleon, Ben'to or Maximilian niether.
I named my baby'son Adolf! although around the'second world war, I discovered my little baby adolf had shot himself! it was heartbreaking to discover, and what made it worse is most people seemed happy about my sons death :'(
The fact that this name is so popular in girls, is just a reflection of the ignorance of their parents, since it is a Male name.
We named are daughter Annalee, anneliese with no s.
No names should ever be banned or forgotten simply because of an individual's actions, no matter how horrid the consequences were. All names are beautiful, and their purpose was to give an individual an 'identity'. Hitler's action, to me, has not tained the name 'Adolf' in the most malevolent style. Hitler does not deserve to be called Adolf, as he is arguably the most disgusting abomination on the planet, dead or alive.
i've known three Adolfs. The first was my grandfather. Being a first generation American of Slavic descent, he bore It'stoicly. The othe's, however, have employed obfuscation. One prefers 'Ade' and the other 'Dolph.' While a solid and honorable name, it has been sullied and fallen into disrepute.
You'really have to pronounce the name good when'telling someone your name...they'll most likely guess ashton the first time but they will soon get it after the'second. i love the name though...i only know of 1 person in my area with the name. people often give me complements on my name...almost all the time!
I think this is a pretty good name, but I always wonder: Why no-one has seemed to be called It'since the 1940s❤️
Reading all the positive comments on this cracks me up. It's funny to see how the nature of them evolves over more than a decade
You'll are all crazy! My name is Ashley and it is the best name ever! If you'll don't like it then'that's your problem!
Charles and Jack are pretty common names and not only associated with a specific history icon. It would be more appropriate to correlate Napoleon as a name. Still, I agree, banning anything as a name wouldn't be realistic. I say, go ahead and use the name Voldamort... take away its power. Although... I'm not making my kid be the burdon bearer in that. :)
chang ching chong im adolf hitler, i died many YEARSRSSS agoes
I agree, just because one man's actions were bad. Doesn't mean the name Isn't an ok name. I'mean after all the name doens't make the man, right❤️
