My name is Aisha (Ae-sh-uh) Yeah thumbs down. I hate it.
I have met about 5 other Aisha's in my 32 years. Most of us spell it this way but there are alot of other'spellings creeping up and slight disputes over the true way to spell it. I do find it to be an empowering name that I have enjoyed. it is often mispronounced AT FIRST and people often inadvertently create nicknames like eesh or ish. I know some Aisha's pronounce it i-ee-sha but my mother always pronounced it a-ee-sha. Non-americans almost always pronounce it I-sha. I find that most people say i-ee-sha. And lastly, I am always greeted with a smile from muslims as Aisha was Muhamed's favorite wife and I am usually asked if I am muslim, which I am not. but It's always in a pleasant exchange and has always made me feel like I have a beautiful, exotic and treasured name.
My name is also ayesha i love my name because its meaning is very very very good
My late-Husband and I chose "Aisha" (pronounced 'Ay-sha') and "Makena" (pronounced 'Mah-kena') in 2009 for our twin daughters born in 2013 because it meant "Life" in Swahili and because we were married in Makena, Maui :O) I named my youngest daughter "Keidyn" (pronounced 'Key-din') in 2016.. I absolutely ~love~ their names :O)

My name is Aisha and I don't really resent it! I think It's a unique name and I'm all about being unique. Im 14 years old and very rarely do people pronounce my name correctly on their first try XD. I don't mind though because it gets some laughs lol. I think It's an awesome name but I wish my parents spelled it the way it is pronounced. I-ee-sha.

My best friend is married to a guy from Pakistan and they called their little girls Aisha and Fatima. As they live in the US I think they should have gone with an English name - my friend wanted Emily and Grace for her girls but her hubby insisted on muslim names.
