I'm not sure how this name is pronounced, but I can only imagine one way...Think of all the horrible teasing this poor child would endure.
To the person who said about mistaking "actually" for Ashley, you are so right! My name is Ashley and I constantly think people are saying my name. Ashley was the'second most popular name when I was named it, so I grew up with two other Ashley's, and one was always in my class. Usually we knew when one of us were being addressed, so it didn't bother me. Not saying I'd rather be named Taylor or Morgan rather than Ashley, but It's an alright name.
annis is a horrible name, my name is annis and people always make nasty comments at my school. not to mention every time i introduce myself its very awkward because no-one has heard it before and they always call me Annie or Alice or Ennis! i really wouldnt recommrnd it!! but Elspeth is a lovely name i think, my sister is called it and people always say how pretty it is :)
