This seems to be a girls name now. Had an elderly female neighbor with this name and recently met a little girl in gymnastics class with this name. I love it! Will use if I ever have a girl.
My birth name is Ida pronounced Eda named after my maternal grandmother. My mother changed my name on the'school records because she didn't want me to be called Ida with a long I sound. All by 66 years of life I have had to say my name and spell it and watch people's faces as they figure out the 3 letters. My middle name is Maria but I was never called Eda Maria just Eda so i've had to correct people for years. I never used my middle name as I got older because It'sounded too ethnic and the year I was born and the place I was born into a plane name meant you weren't pointed out as ethnic. I have struggled all my life with this name never wanting to be unique but I was always the only Eda I ever met except for my cousin who kept her name as Ida. My older'sister met an Eda who had the'same issues. I'met a woman from Germany where I worked and she loved my name and knew it I'mediately because she'said it was a common name from where she lived. She'said I reminded her of Germany whenever'she'said my name. But Im of Italian decent and my namesake was born in Italy! Where did she get her name from❤️ She dies when my mom was 16 so that question was never answered.
My name is Eda (pronounced e-duh) and I didn't like it growing up because no one could pronounce it, but as an adult I absolutely love it because it has first name recognition like Cher, Madonna etc. Everyone knows who I am lol!
well my name is fatimah!! i love my name. yes when i was little i got picked on and teacher do mis pronounce it, but that give me a feeling of being unique. fatimah is by far one of the best names for a female and has alot of inter'steing history that comes with it :)
My name is Eda, and yes its true people do pronounce it wrong all the time. They pronounce it like eeeeda but i still love my name. It could be very difficult to find the name Eda because in my school i've always been'the only Eda and i am very lucky!!! YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THE NAME EDA NO MATTER WHAT.

my name is eda aswell, my dad is of Turkish descent. It's pronounced like ada or aida. it means good manners also its a catholic name. people in Turkey never mispronounce it but some have a problem when reading it (like with many other names) but when you tell them the correct pronunciation they get it. its a unique and beautiful name.
It is my daughters name, after her grandmother. It is turkish and sounds like the american "Ada". The way any other language, like spanish, french, german, italian, and turkish would pronounce it. The e always sounds like A.
My name is Eda and yes, haha, people do pronounce it wrong very often. they say it like eeeda. but i like my name just the'same! :)
my names eda & I never new it was so popular in England I don't no anyone else with the'same nans It's nice to no people like it
Eda is an awesome name. THink about it. It's short. =)
My name is not Eda really, but Ida(shortened from my real name.) my "Ida" is pronounced as E'dah, but in American pronunciation, it is Aida. i didn't like it, so I adapted a new spelling, and now everyone spells my name that way. =) I love the name "EDA" with this spelling as it can be pronounced as both E'dah and Ey-dah. both of which I'm fine with because the first pronunciation is correct and the'second is unique! As Japanese language student, I found out that Eda(pronounced Eh-dah) means Branch, or twig. this was really fitting as my Japanese Alias means Flower petal. The more I think about it, the more I love this name. For those ho thumbed this name down, please do think how unique this name is. Femininity of a name is perceived by the person. i DO personally think it is a sweet name! short names are the best. you hear it I'mediately and its easy to say! if You're in danger, its easier to say "Eda, look out!" instead of "Edna/Michelle/Stephanie look out!"...see❤️ it takes less than a second to say Eda! Appreciate this unique name. i took a look at the'stats around the net and saw that the highest number of people with our name is only 100 or so.We are rare gems! ^_-
My daughter is called Eda. It is apparently an old Anglo Saxon name as well as middle eastern. That is why me and my ex wife chose it. In English we would pronounce it as we say the letter 'e' in Turkish they use 'e' in the phonic sense. There is no right and wrong way of pronouncing it. It all depends on which language and/or culture uses it. So don't fret!!
My name is Eda too and i am turkish. it is a common name in turkey but obviously not many people like it :) I dont like it when'they say eee-da
