My mother was an Edna Gertrude named for a friend of her mother's. When our first son was born,we named him Dean (same letters in Edna-just moved around.) She was kind, loving and very much loved by her family. She loved her grandmother name Mamie! Also her father's name was Edward.
Makes me think of a mean, ugly woman. I would never use this name
The only name in the "baby name bible" that grabbed me as the right name for our then future son. Sounds like a regular name, yet has a strong tone to it...not sure if It's the history behind it or not. The references to the biblical Samson are very annoying though.
I just turned 32 years old. I love my name, hardly anyone has it. So when someone yells for me in a crowd they don't have 6 Jessica's that look back at them. :) I of course am named after my grandmother. I used to be told Edna doesn't fit you b/c I was younger in my late teens and 20's. My only point to them is you have to be a kid before you can be an adult. :)
My nams is Edna,i hate it ,iwas named after my grandmother
