I still cringe when someone calls me Edna. I was given'the name as my parents were in show business and this was to honor the celebrity who paid the doctor❤️s bill when I was born. As a teenager I was teased because of my name and also remember my mom calling my name in a restroom and 2 elderly women responded to her. Yikes! I do not use the name tho it is on my documentation as I kept it to honor my parents. I am much older now and see so many great names out there, and sadly, Edna is not one of them.
My name is Edna, often people find it difficult to pronounce it.Its pronounce wrongly and spelt wrongly.I have met 1 person with the'same name and v both are friends now.before that i have read my name in books but never met anyone with the'same name.Im very fond of my name and it means pleasure and indeed it gives me pleasure.
My name is Edna and I'm in my 50s, my older mother named me after an old lady she knew when she was young. I never hated my name even'though it was strange to see a little kid with it.it fits me well now.
My nan is called Edna and she is great. But not a name for kids, obv.
I don't think I'd ever name my child Edna. It just so reminds me of that mean-faced Edna Birch woman from the Yorkshire television soap 'Emmerdale' (formerly called 'Emmerdale Farm')
My name is Edna, I'm 18 years old. i've always loved my name. There❤️s nothing wrong with it, in fact it feels nice when people tell me that they❤️ve never heard it before. Planning on naming my future daughter Edna as well :)
My beautiful and spunky granddaughter is Edna. She is only two, but if I call her Ed or Eddie she informs me her name is EDNA. Really, how is it that different from the over'sed Emma❤️ There are three Stellas in her daycare. That will never happen'to Edna.
My mom and grandmother were named Edna. I love this name.
Edna Isn't a bad name. It makes me think of a NICE old lady! It's maybe a bit old-fashioned.
Edna Ferber the American writer and Edna St. Vincent Millay the American poet were notable 20th-century bearers of this name, followed more recently by Bart Simpson's teacher Mrs. Krabappel in the long-running cartoon TV series 'The'simpsons'. Unfortunately, this name'sounds somewhat like a gray-haired old lady these days. Parents these days are more likely to choose Eden for their baby girls.
My mother was an Edna Gertrude named for a friend of her mother's. When our first son was born,we named him Dean (same letters in Edna-just moved around.) She was kind, loving and very much loved by her family. She loved her grandmother name Mamie! Also her father's name was Edward.
Makes me think of a mean, ugly woman. I would never use this name
The only name in the "baby name bible" that grabbed me as the right name for our then future son. Sounds like a regular name, yet has a strong tone to it...not sure if It's the history behind it or not. The references to the biblical Samson are very annoying though.
I just turned 32 years old. I love my name, hardly anyone has it. So when someone yells for me in a crowd they don't have 6 Jessica's that look back at them. :) I of course am named after my grandmother. I used to be told Edna doesn't fit you b/c I was younger in my late teens and 20's. My only point to them is you have to be a kid before you can be an adult. :)
My nams is Edna,i hate it ,iwas named after my grandmother
