I'm named Edwina after my dad, Edward, who passed away before my mum gave birth to me, I used to hate the name growing up as obviously people aren't used to hearing it, especially as children... But now I quite like it, I like being different... Not just another "Jessica" I would rather be different than common ❤️

Re:comment from Jan 23.My name is Jessica and it is far better than Edwina. It is more sophisticated and better'suiting for females. I think most people would agree that Jessica is better than Edwina even if they don't like the name Jessica.

It is an Anglo-Saxon name, common in England before the Norman conquest of 1066,.The correct pronunciation is Ed-ween-a.It is my given name, but as a child ,kids at school persisted in calling me 'Eddie' which I loathed, within the family it was always shortened to Nina.

My name is Edwina but I never used it until legally everyone had to go by their first name. Do not like it!

I pronounce it "Ed-wee-na." I loathe "win." To me, that's the male version of the name: Edwin. I like the name just fine. Far better than "Jessica."

It's my name. I was named after a great man and any time people say my name I am reminded of one of the kindest people I have ever met. There are two pronunciations, I let people choose. The BrIt'sh Empire covered the globe and I cannot be bothered to govern the pronunciation of a simple name. It does make me irritated when people act as if I am from a different planet. I❤️d hate to see what they would do with other names.

My name is Edwina, I was born in 1992. It's always been shortened to Eddie, which I love! In response to "Jessica"- please don't trash our name! Edwina is a great name, It's old fashioned and not very common these days. Jessica is a very common, very pedestrian name.

I had been using the name Edwina for a long time, I hate the fact that no one can pronounce it right, and everyone asks me to say it twice before they can remember it. I officially fed up with that name and changed it.

Re:Comment from Jan 23. I hate the name Edwina and its not even my name. My name is Jessica and I think anyone would agree that the name Jessica is far better than Edwina. The name Edwin is fine, but Edwina is just weird.People in general don't like that name because at its peak of popularity their were only 214 Edwina's, and not to mention that their seems to be some if any Edwina's counted from 1982 to present.

came here to find out how to pronounce it, and will be leaving just as unsure as before. oh well, at least I can say I know people pronounce it both ways. But I gotta wonder why this person would choose to be called Edwina when It's just their middle name. Makes me wonder what their first initial stands for...

My name is Edwina (Ed-wee-na) and I love it. People only call me ed-WIN-uh when'they are taking the piss. I think It's a strong, regal name and It's unique. I get called Eddie for short and love that too. If you want your daughter to grow into a strong, independent and smart woman - this is a great name choice ;)

I pronounce it "Ed-win-ah" and I hate it when I tell someone my name and they I'mediately mispronounce it as Ed-weena!! I was named after my father whose name was Edward. I am a retired dentist, UCLA graduate. I am called by the nickname "Wina" by ver close friends.

My name is Edwina and I pronouce it "Ed Wee Na" I also hated my name as a kid because my name was not very common. Kids would often sing oh I wish I was an Oscar Myer Weiner that is what I truly want to be. and if I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner everyone would be in love with me. I never heard that name again until I was in my late twenties. Ed Win uh is the very southern pronounciation of the name that is the feminine version of Edwin. My grandfather name was Ed, my mother name is Eddie Mae and I am Ed Wee Na,I LOVE MY NAME

I pronounce it "ed WIN uh". It drives me wild when someone says "Ed wee na". I hated the name as a child because it was so unusual. I like it now: I never have to answer "Edwina who❤️"
