My name is Ge-Anne, a cross between Geneva and Anne. I have thought about using this name if/when I have my own daughter.
I am Geneva. Growing up I thought is was a horrible name, but when my family told me how famous it was I thought it was pretty special & unique. Being from Australia, it is very rare and i've never met anyone with the'same name. The only thing I don't like is answering the phone, no one ever understands what I say! i've been called many different names over the years. My nicknames range from G, Gee Gee, Neva, Neves, but never ever Jen!
This is my daughter's name and a very popular slavic name. For those of you who know of Danica Patrick's name is how it is pronounced in the news, It's WRONG! She changed it because the American's couldn't pronounce it correctly. The "c" is not pronounced like a "K". It's just as the person explained above, the "c" is like "T'S". The reason for the varios pronouncations is because the'slavic alphabet has more letters and different sounds, so if You're not slavic you probably won't pronounce it correctly, unless you were told.
the girl who posted a comment jul 11 2019 i know how it feels because my name is felipa and they always say my name wrong they come up with the most redicouls things

We named our daughter Geneva ,after Geneva Switzerland. This is an historic place where protestants went for freedom and saftey during the reformation and the breaking away from the Catholic church. Where the Geneva Bible was translated into the language of the people in 1560. The Geneva Bible was brought over by the pilgrims on the Mayflower. I wish more Christians knew more about this history. People comment about how beautiful her name is.It is never'spelled wrong or mispronounced after I explained how it is her name is exactly like the city in Switzerland. She loves her name and is currently 6 yrs old.

My name is Ginevra, that is Geneva in Italian. I am actually Italian and I remember that when I was a child I did not appreciate my name because it was too unpopular between girls of my same age. Now I love it exactly because of its uniqueness and elegance. People often remind this name only because of Geneva city, but I would like to remind that it is also the name of the beautiful Queen of England, from the legendary story of King Arthur and Camelot.
I plan on using for my daughter. It's a strong beautiful Women❤️s name.
My name is Geneva too. I love my name. I get compliments on it all the time. Poeple call me Gevie, Nevie, Neve, Neva, Gigi, Genovia, Genie, Gen, and a few more. Name your daughter Geneva, and she will have a good life.
My daughter lives in Switzerland, and named her daughter Geneva, and I think it is beautiful...and sooo french. At least when'the name Geneva is called out, everyone won't be answering to it like they do Ashley.
My name is Geneva. Names my friends call me are Gevie, Neva, Genevive, and Gen
My name is Geneva - my mother liked the name. Growing up I hated the name, but luckily everyone calls me Jennie - which in itself gets people confused because the first letters are not the'same - I would not, however, go by Genny - it looks like "guh-enny" and would lead to many issuese by people who couldn't figure it out - and there are many of them. I think Genny looks rather ugly really. I had a rather'stupid high school teacher who couldn't manage to get the name correct - he thought it was Genevi've - I don't think he could read very well. Most people get It'straight. My friends do make fun of the name and strain the pronunciation for fun. I have never actually MET anyone with my name although people have told me they may have met one other. Most people remark that its a beautiful name. Being older, I do appreciate how much more professional It'sounds. However, if you name a child this and give them a nickname, beware! i've gotten'to the point if I'meet someone I am not going to have to know for too long or am uncomfortable around, I don't bother to tell them what I go by.
