I was actually named after my dad, his name was Glendon. Funny thing is I'married a guy named Glen. It Isn't a very common name and is frequently mispronounced as in Brenda, Linda, Wanda, Lucinda, Belinda. If it had a "da" on the end of the name, I usually answered to it. I will admit, I didn't care for my name when I was growing up, I felt like my sisters all had pretty names while I was stuck with a dud. But after I grew up I discovered I liked my uncommon name even if I do have to correct people and spell it over the phone for them a lot of times.
Don't like my name.its ok for business purposes but not feminine or noteworthy only as the good witch in the Wizard of oz.
I love my name, born in 1943 in Australia. A small club I belong to has 4 Glenda members and I know a few othe's as well.
Glenda has been a difficult name to be saddled with. Brenda was a more popular name when I was a young person, so I got called that ALOT. It is a name of an age, so it dates me. Close friends and family call me Glen.
My name is Glenda and I was born in Japan, so consequently I have never met someone that'shared the'same name as mine. Even'though it is an uncommon name, I pretty much like it :)) it makes me feel somehow unique.

Here in 2019, I have met one other Glenda. All of my life they called me "Glinda" the good witch. Sometimes I care enough to tell them that her name and my name are different and said differently. I didn't like the name when I was young but I absolutely love it now.
