I am 35 weeks pregnant with a baby girl...her name is going to be Laney Rose. I am very excited and love the name!!

My name is Laney, and I'm 31yrs old. Growing up, I had so many teache's mispronounce my name. They would call me "Lacey","Lancey", and many to weird to remember. When I'met someone, it would be them that would remembered me, way before I was able to remember their name. I never came across another Laney, until 2015. I will always love my name.

Pronounced Lane-E, we have only met one other Laney in her twenties I would assume. We love our Laney. Born April2015, the name Laney was literally a last minute decision. I think it is still pretty unique. We went through 8 months of disagreement, and finally I jokingly mentioned Laney Snow which my husband quickly rejected. Over the next three days, before delivery, the name apparently grew on my husband, as he kept throwing it back at me in sarcasm. Finally, I looked him in the eyes and said, "You like it!" His smile said it all. So when she came we did not even discuss it any further. She quickly became Laney Snow.

We just named our little girl Lila (Lie-la). So far no one has pronounced it right. We thought we would go for the'simple, short spelling to make it easy for everyone. My father's middle name was Laney and it was star middle name of his father, his father's father and a few generations back.
