beautiful name when It's pronounced "lay-uh." It's a Hawaiian name that means child from heaven or heavenly flowers
My name is Leia pronounced like "Leah". Most people say it lay-uh because that is how the Princess from star wars pronounces he's. My mother loved star wars and that is actually where my name came from. But she wanted to pronounce it like Leah. I think I would have rather pronounced it Lay-uh- It's more unique. I do love it though.
My eldest daughter is named Leia which IS pronounced "Lay Ah" I love her name because I loved the Hawaiian meaning and Star Wars but you know what sometimes It's pronounced the wrong way is all
I gave my Daughter this name Leia pronounced the way It'should be "lay-uh" this is actually how you would pronounce it in Hebrew. you can also pronounce the'spelling of Leah as "lay-uh" I am not sure where people got the confusion of pronouncing it "Lee ah" but I guess if you say it a certain way when you are reading the Hebrew it could sound like either pronunciation. I hope my Leia makes sure people pronounce her name correctly. When ever I tell people her name I usually get oh Princess Leia so far It'seems to have worked out. I did not however name her for the'star wars character even'thought I love star wars. For some reason I just prefer names with i.... I guess so she can heart the i when she gets holder lol
My name is Leia pronounced Leah too :) I do get "lay-uh" a lot from people. I answer to both *shrug*
My youngest daughter we named her Leia my husband of course thought of Star Wars and I loved that it meant child of heaven and heavenly flowers :)
I named my daughter Leia and some pronounce it as Lay-ah and majority pronounce it Lee-ah... she always gets compliments on her name and it is very uncommon. I love the name It's unique that's why I choose it
It's really cool having a unique name but all I get called is Leah. Never once have I been called Leia
