This is the name of my 4 year old son. We love It's strong sound and definition. Our research (done before the naming) found it to mean "Master of the deepest mysteries" and, in traditional Japanese martial arts, is the rank given'to the person just below the highest master (i.e. the person designated to carry on the tradition when'the master has passed on).
My name is Leota.I find people enjoy my name very much seeing as it is not very common. People do often spell and pronounce it wrong...they tend to make it more difficult than it actually is..to me that is. I pronounce it LEE-OH-TAH. I have yet to meet someone with this name but I was told there is someone living in the'same province as I that'shares this name with me...I'm not alone..lol.I love my name because it is uncommon.i've had nothing but good experiences, other than some mispronouciations, its been great.
This is my first name and I really like Leanna better. Everyone always wants to through either an E or an A at the end anyways.
I too have the name Leota. I was named after my paternal grandmother. My name is pronounced just as it is spelled. Lee Oh Ta. Most people misspell or mispronounce it but that's ok with me. I like having my grandmother's name and like that it is unusual.
