Wow, my name is also Kecia (pronounced Keesha), and like many othe's I was named after the model Kecia Nyman. I too was born in the 60's, 1980 to be exact. From my earliest memory people have always commented on the'spelling and how beautiful my name is. One of my Co-workers actually named her daughter after me. It's nice to see all the variations of pronunciation of the name because I have been call Kay cee a, Ka sha, and Kee si a. One Christmas about 18 years ago I bought a doll named Kecia, sure wished I would have kept it :)

Born in 1973, and everywhere I went as a kid, there were always at least 3 other Lisas there. In my 7th grade class of 35 kids, there were 6 other Lisas. I don't even look up when my name is called because it has always been statistically unlikely the person is talking to me. I have always thought of the name as the most common, dreary name possible. Gonna change it one of these days!

I love my name; however, my surname happens to be Carter by marriage. When most people initially meet me for the first time, they tend to call me Linda. It took me a while to figure out how they could associate the name Lisa with Linda. When'this happens I usually play a little "wonder woman" joke on them; and then I re-emphasize that my name is Lisa and not Linda. Besides, I don't even look like a Linda. (lol)

There were always other "Lisa's" in my classes and some with the'same last name initial as well, so we always had to put our full names on our papers. I was born in the mid-sixties, when'the name Lisa was at its most popular. i've heard that's because of two things: the movie 'David and Lisa' came out in the'sixties, and 'Lisa' was a very popular character in the'soap 'As the World Turns.' I always notice when'the name Lisa is used in a song or a movie. My fave Lisa use is Grace Kelly's character in 'Rear Window.'

My mom was named Eileen, and she always hated having a name that can be mis-spelled 18 ways, so she knew that'she wanted to give me a pretty simple, and let's face it, generic name. When she and my father couldn't agree on anything, they thought "let's just copy elvis and go with lisa marie." Growing up I liked my name, because It's not so common for my age. I liked not having to go by a last initial in school (I was born in 1994). The only thing I hated about growing up with my name was that even'though if seemed like half the world was named Lisa, it rarely ever'showed up on TV or in movies.

Lisa is simple to pronounce. I think it is wrong for a boy to have this name. It is a girl's name.

Natural parents named me Lisa Anne and adopted parents always called me that and sometimes Lee. They also dropped the "e" in the'spelling of Anne. In high school I was called Lee or Lise.
