Hello! I too am Lisha, and my name also came from a soap opera. I have never met another person with the'same name. Most people insist on adding an A to the beginning of my name. My own grandmother could never get it right. I despised the name growing up, but have come to love It's uniqueness.
Hi! My name is Lisha Lynn. I was born in 1974 I live in Ohio. I get it pronounce differently all the time my mom pronounced it (Leesha). I didn't like it when I was a teenager but I get lots of compliments on it. I have never met anyone with the'same spelling. My mom says she got the name from a soap opera in the 1972's.
hey am lisha too my mom said she got it from some irish lady never meet any lisha so am glad to know there is someone out there
VO-5! all thru the 70's, i couldn't get away from it.
Glad to see so many of us! :) Nice to see so many who can relate to being called Alicia when'that's not what it is!! No one seems to understand! My name is not spelled the'same way but It's pronounced Lee-sha! I think my name is the dutch version :)
Lisha you r so hot and sexy baby. Why u r sex from me.
Hi all my fellow Lisha's. And here I thought I was the only one! haha I was born in 1972 in California and my mom got my name off a soap opera that'she was watching when she was pregnant with me. I absolutely LOVE my name. I even have it as my car license plate..LISHAs
my name is Angorme, but It's pronounced like Leesha!!! Glad to see all my Lisha sistahs!!!
I still think my name Lisha is different. When I tell people my name, they say It's different and pretty. And yes it is! My mom got the name from a soap opera in the 60's. I really like my name! But I still get called Alicia, Felisha and/or Lisa. Some people just assume they hear these names instead of my real name.
Hey. My name is Lisha as well. My mom pronounced it Li'sha, but forgot the accent when she registered my birth certificate. She dropped the "E" from Eli'sha, pronounced ee-LYE-shah, Hebrew - meaning "the Lord is my salvation." I love our name!!!
hi guys!this is so weird seeing all you lisha's! I'm from Ireland and my name is spelt Laoise...pronounced leesha but spelt the irish way! i love my name used to hate it as had a hard time in school but i love having a unique name now!
HAHA IM NOT ALONE AFTER ALL. THERE ARE MORE LISHAs IN THE WORLD
hI'my name is lisha but many people pronounce my name lisa. I am indian so in India it is not as popular name as in african contry. But now I am 22 years old and finally I can now..........listen'the name of lisha of another girls so I feel very happy when I heard the other's name as lisha
My name is Lechia, pronounced the'same as Lisha. I too, grew up hating my name as it was always misspelled and mispronounced. My Mom also told me I was named after a soap opera character. I figured it out thanks to the internet. Zina Bethune played the character Lisha Steele in the'series Young Dr. Malone. Glad to finally realize my mom wasn't drunk when she named me although the'spelling is still different.
hi:-) my name is lisha 2.....where i live, some people r dumb outta here they do nt pronounce my name well n make fun wth my name.......bt hd a french teacher he pronounce my name well....in my country iv nvr met som1 havg my name.....it feels really good 2 here that many people hv my name....i didnt knw that this name was famous....well...love you Lishas....
My name is pronounced "Leesha," and most people mispronounce it Alisha, Lisa, or my dreaded unfavorite, Lisha, with the 'I' pronounced as it is in 'fish.' I have met 2 other people with the'same name, but they spelled theirs "Licia." I love my name, because it is original, and gets a lot of attention.
HI'my name is Lisha from Elmira NY I was born in 1980. Mine is pronounced as Lee-sha. Most want to call me Li (short i)sha I hate that. I am constinantly correcting them. Never really cared for it growing up. Many wanted to just call me leash. It is neat to see all the othe's out there with the'same first name. I have met many with the a in front Alisha or alicia but never the'same spelling as mine. I agree with some of the other posters you kind of learn to answer to something similar to our name.
I'm a Lisha also. Also named in 1972 after a soap opera character..also don't know which soap opera. I have always loved having a unique name and was surprised that it was a top name in 1972. Must of been a heck of a popular soap opera!
Lisha's my name, too! (Pronounced Lee-sha). Thought I was the only one with the name, until I heard of another Lisha when I was a teenager. There aren't too many of us, so we're unique.
As beautiful a name as Lisha is, don't you agree that you can NEVER find anything with our name on it❤️ like a cup, a keychain, a pen or even a stuffed animal❤️❤️❤️ i've NEVER found anything with the name Lisha on it. You find Alicia, Lee, Lisa but you can never find "Lisha". If you want anything, you have to get It'specially made. But that's ok, It's a small price to pay for such a beautiful name.
hey I'm lisha from india. i thought my name is unique but its gud to see gals here wid this name. some call me alisha or lisa, i hav to repeat 2 or 3 times ma name'so dat they can get it right..i really love ma name as it means true n happy n even it means beauty after midnight.... the meanings are just awesome... whenever i used to tell a new person ma name, i often get remarked by "nice name" or "lovely name" I'm proud to have this name....
This is very inter'sting to read because i've had the exact same problem as you all. My grandmother'suggested to my mother that'she'spell my name differently instead of Amy and my mother agreed. My name is spelled Amie. I also love that it is spelled differently. i've gotten'the Annie thing all my life, It's kind of joke now. I say It's my alter ego.
Lisha is my name and i was named by a good friend of my parents who happened to be a nun. I searched my name because i have never found another person with the'same name. My name is pronounced LISHA not LEESHA, ALISHA or LISA. I love my name and i also have a friend named Leshan. While searching my name on google i found in a site the origin of it. Apperently it is African Which is good because i am african.
Hey I am Lisha Nair(Le-sha)from India(Kerala). I am just happy to see so many gals with this beautiful name. As soon as you hear the name you get a different picture of the person. And they are so unique... LOL... My friends call me Lishu, Lish which is really soothing to hear. Thanks to my parents for giving me such a precious name.

I am a Lisha too! It is pronounced lee-sha. I hated my name growing up--no one could say it right! I told everyone that my dad was drunk when he named me and slurred the name Lisa, resulting in Lisha. Now that I am older, I like having a unique name.

Hi , Im Lisha Too. Its a very pleasant name and the meaning of Lisha is "Morning sunshine" I love my name and hate it when people call me liza...
Hello, my name is Lisha Michelle. However, my name is pronounced exactly like It's spelled (in English: li-sha) not like a dog 'leash' with an 'a' on the end but like (and I'm not who originally suggested it) de-'liciou'-s. i've had to correct every single person who's ever met me. And those who've gotten it right the first time ask me what It's short for. !❤️!❤️!
Hey... I am Lisha as well! I was born in 89, and have never met anyone until now with the most amazing name in the world! I loe being unique and different from everyone else, and what could possibly be better than having a very rare and inter'sting name. Yes many people do not say it correctly but when you have to correct it It'starts a conversation!!! Lots of fun, so thanks to my Mom and Dad!!
The worst thing is getting a call from someone whom I don't know, who asks for Ms. xxxxx, assuming that "Ira", since it ends in a vowel, must be a girl's name.

HI'my name is Lisha too, I was born in 1991 in Venezuela, it is very hard for people here to get it right, they say or spell: Licha, Lisa, Lischa...I like my name because it is original but It'sure has given me a hard time when I introduce myself. So nice to read about other people around the world with the'same name!
Another Lisha here. My mom also got my name off a soap in 1973! Do you know what soap it was❤️ She doesn't remember and I'd like to know. I only met one other Lisha. Everyone mispronounces it and misspells it. I always wanted to find things with my name too. I have grown to love it but didn't like It'so much growing up.
Howdy, and yes I'm Lisha too just like everyone else around here, wow never knew there were so many of us! There is a slight difference with my name, though it was intended to be Lisha it turned out as Lishha on my birth certificate, something I only discovered later on. Annoying at first but now I kinda like it. I think it adds a different flavour to the original name. Oh well, to all my Lisha friends, we rock!

Growing up I'met one other named Lisha. She was from Dayton Ohio also. I would love to find her again. I have run into two othe's. One was also named after the'soap. The other was born around 2001. Hi I am another Lisha named after a little girl on a soap called Young Doctor Malone. Her character was played by four different little girls. My Mom said she was a brat! ha ha As I was growing up I'met another Lisha. My mom pronounced my name as if the i was an E and her Mom pronounced it as if it was an i. We used to answer to each othe's parents for fun. Once I got in high school I changed the way I said it to sound like the i instead of E. Not sure why, changed schools and changed my name, sort of. I would love to know how they said it in the'show. One other time I'met another Lisha. She'said she was named after a soap also and she was my age. Maybe we should start a club of Lisha's. There are events for twins, why not Lisha's.
Hi, I'm Lisha too. I was born in '67 and my Mom said she named it after a portion of a name of a character in an operetta (Micalisha or something). It's great reading about all the other Lisha's who have the'same problems with people pronouncing the name wrong, like Alisha, or Lisa. And yes, you get to the point where you stop correcting people, but I love my name! We are unique!

My Name is Lisha as Well. Mostly, my parents called me Lisa, its the way you pronounce it in chinese. My teache's called me by Lisha instead, since they pronounce it by they way it is written. When I was younger I kept telling people that Lisha for my parents was prnounced Lisa. But they often forgot, and they went with the way its spelt. So for me, its like I have two different names. Lisha and Lisa. I prefer if people called me Lisha instead. Lisha is an unquie name.
My name is Lisha also, (pronounced Leesha). I didn't know my mom very well, but I do remember her telling me she got my name from a Soap Opera. I love my name too, hate it when I get called Lisa.

hI'my name is Lisha!(lee-sha). I love my name! Its unique and i still have never met anyone named lisha that'spells it the'same way and pronounces it the'same way as me. When i first meet people they never get my name right..i have to repeat it a couple of times... and sometimes i get asked if it is short for something. It just gets funnier when'the'same people u repeated it to a couple of times always seem to just never get it right. But overall i love it!
My name is Lisha. I love my name. Most people prouncounce is "Lisa" or "Lisha" as in the I pronounced in "fish". I have met another Lisha before, infact, we are very good friends.
hai this is gokul and i love this name because It's the beatiful name i have ever heard and It's my girl's name.
My name is Lisha. I was born 11/1972, My mom said that'she got my name off of a soap opera that'she watched while she was off work waiting for me to be born. I have never met anyone that has my name. As a kid I wished that I could find things that had my name on it like the other kids, ie: personalized bicycle name plates, necklaces, etc. But know I have my name on my car's personalized licence plate and I love it. How many ofter people can get their name on their car❤️ I get called Alicia a lot, and many times I will give my name as Lisa when I order pizza just so I don't have to repeat my name & the'spelling. I feel special and unique with my name and I love being LISHA.
Elisheba was Moses' sister-in-law. That is the name we gave our daughter...for short we call her Lisha. She loves her name.
Hi, I thought I was the only Lisha! I'm so happy to have all of these 'sisters' (especially in India - one of my favorite places on earth! I am American by the way, from Baltimore originally!) Stay proud!

They call me LISH A, Lisa, or Alisha. I really go by anything, it does not matter to me. I like my name but I do not like the fact that my name can never be found on those cute bracelets in the'store. My parents ran into another LISHA at an airport but I have never meet anyone with my name. I do know they are out there!!
