Since Lola is so common now, this is a nice soft version of the name. I have only heard it once, so I'm thinking about it for my soon daughter. Now if I could convince my husband...!
Nola Mae here, age 74. I love my name and have only known 2 othe's in my life. Hated it when I was a kid because I wanted to be a Betty or Susie like everyone else. Now I love my name and feel I am the unique person my name represents. Please don't spoil it by adding an H to the end.
I think it is so beautiful. I want to name my daughter Nolah.
My name is Nola. I was named after my father, Noland. I often get the comment, Oh! Like New Orleans, LA. I do love my name as it is unusual but so-o-o often mispronounced & misspelled. People try to make it too complicated.
I am named for my father, Noel. As a child, I wasn't thrilled with the name. My dad died when I was 16 and I am glad that I have this part of him at 69. Yes, i've been called Nena, Nila, Nora, Paula, etc. but I'm used to it.
My name is NOLA Louise. My father owned a music shop and he knew a story about the'song ❤️NOLA❤️ and how it came to be a hit. I live in New Zealand and I know about 4 other Nola❤️s.
My name is Nola and I love it. I have met one person named Nola. Unlike some other Nola's, people pronounce my name correctly all of the time. One thing I don't like about my name is how everyone says "Oh, your named after New Orleans right❤️" or "Oh, its like New Orleans"
Almost EVERYONE pronounces my name wrong. It gets annoying after a while. I have never met anyone else with the name Nola, but I would like to.
My name is Nola I love it I was named that because my mom was born there and It'stands for New Orleans LA I am on my schools basketball team and It's funny when'the'say New Orleans when'they announce it I have met one other person with the name Nola hope I can meet all of you

My name is Nola. I am 68. No one has pronounced or spelled it wrong. I have met 3 other Nola's in my life.
My name is Nola and people either don't hear me right when I say it and they say it like Nolan, Nora or Lola. Nobody spells it wrong, but they sometimes ask me how to spell my name. The correct way to say this name is like if your saying no and la. I think the name Nola is better without the h. I do not meet many othe's with the'same name.
My daughter is Nola Maxine (age 10). We heard it in a movie and had no idea it was the acronym for New Orleans, LA; Maxine was my husband's grandma's name. The comments we receive are always very positive and the question asked is usually are we from LA or the'south❤️ (no - not even close:-) It's feminine, simple, and strong, which made it a no-brainer for us.
I'm a Nola. The only one I personally know. I know of maybe 3 othe's. I hated it growing up because it is unusual but no one ever forgets me now and when my name is called out somewhere people pay attention and often I get compliments or what❤️! never heard of that name but I'm not an Angela, Meghan, or Sara! People always misprounce it...Noelle, Noella, Noola...For spellings, usually people wright Nora.
This is my name and how it is i get a hard time with it with peoples saying it cause they say it wrong or spell it wrong and i've gotten used to It'so i just laugh now when i see It'spelt wrong XD
I am 18. And my mom named me Nola after my grandpa Noah Jackson. So I am Nola Jacklyn. It's a nice name. I usually spell it Nola or Nollah. I think It's pretty either way <3
Nola Jean here named after my father Nolan Eugene. i've never met another Nola in person! My mom's name was Elizabeth & she gave her 5 daughters short names cause she hated her name being shortened to Lizzie! Only short form of Nola is No!!

My wife and I have a beautiful 16 yo daughter we chose to name Nola Ann, who loves her name! No New Orleans nonsense, just a small reference to ❤️noble woman❤️ and ❤️fair shoulders❤️ which we smile about as she lives her life as a strong independent young woman.
I often get Melanie❤️❤️ or Mary - people hear what they wish to hear
I love the name and so does one of my daughters. Currently pregnant with another girl and really wanting to name her Nola. Just not sure if I want to spell it Nola or Nolah!
Love the name'so much so named my daughter Nola. I gave her the name because I wanted to pay tribute to my mother but I am not fond of her name. So I came up with the place she was born (New Orleans)! Some times people confuse her name with Lola but she quickly corrects them. It was the perfect name for her and her big personality.
I am 62 and my name is Nola. My mom said she worked with a girl by that name at her first job as a teenager and liked her'so when she was selecting a name for me and saw it in a baby book, she picked it. There was also an old song by that name. I have had maybe 4 people in my life say that they know someone else by that name. I have only personally met one other and it was about 2 years ago at my mom's senior living facility and she died a few weeks later! For the first 50 years of my life no one ever associated it with New Orleans, but since hurricane Katrina, people ask me all the time if I was born there. I have never even been'there. I am sometimes called Lola or Norah. Funny I now have a granddaughter name Norah. I never liked it as a child because It'sounded old but now I am old, so who cares, right❤️!
