My name is Raegan and I am proud to have a name as unique as it is. I have had a few misspellings (including a Raaegan from my mother! nice to know you care, mom!) but other than that being a Raegan has been amazing. We are English and our son is called Felix. There is the cat association - but the name way outdates consumer'st notions on the TV. There was Felix Mendelsohn for a start. My name is spelled RaegEn. I have yet to ever meet anyone with this spelling. My mother'swears that'she found it in a baby book in the 60's, but I can't even find it online. I never knew for sure what my name meant, since it is never'spelled the'same as the book or website. Once, back in the 80's, I found my exact spelling in a book in an antique shop. This book said it was Hebrew, and meant "Lazy Camel." I showed my mother and she was practically rolling on the floor with laughter, saying "Wow, I picked the perfect name for you!" I was born before Ronald was ever in office and before the exorist came out. I was teased horribly over the years, especially since my last name was worse, "President Reagan has rabies." But once I left elementary school, all that'stopped. I have always loved having a unique name, but I see that it is becoming more popular. Even my daughter's best friend is named Raegen, although it is spelled Regan. We were both kind of amazed when we met each other. I instantly liked her. No one but my mother has ever'spelled it right; not even my father, despite many years of trying. The botched spelling causes many problems with getting emails, but otherwise I don't mind. I can not beli've there is a whole RAEGAN ulture out there. I named my daughter RAEGAN JADE in Sept. of '01. She is 5 and a half now and I love the name more and more every day. It is always pronounced differently, but I say it just like it is spelled "Rae gan" not "Reg an" I get a lot of compliments on my name, but I also get real sick of the president and exorcist comments.
