My name ia Raul, I am of spanish descent. I love my name and am about to name my first child Raul. I am named after my father'so this is very important to me. I have seen It'spelled a couple of ways, Raul, Raoul and Rawl. Either way I dig my name....
My name is Raoul. My father's name was Raoul. His grandparents were all born in France. YES! The name is very French. There is a version of this name in each of the European languages. In English, it is Ralph. In German it is Rolf. The original meaning was simple, "Wolf". The'spelling became a bit confused on the islands of the Caribbean. Raoul is the French spelling. Raul is the'spanish spelling. But, sometimes the'spellings are mixed.
i have a friend who name is raoul and i thing It's a nice name, some time poeple mis- pronouncing it but is ok with me as long i like the name.
The name is pronounced, Pa TRISH ah. I have met MANY Patricia's in my time. Oddly enough, I have been'told that I was a queen in a past life. I won't say which queen, but a very well known one:)
Raoul is a great name, certainly French and Swedish in nature. Raoul Walenberg, Raoul Walsh, and Raoul Andre,to mention a few. The problem is the other'spelling RAUL (Ral) in English and (Raowl)with the o vowel for Raoul. Be correct in your English pronunciation and spelling should you care to be accurate with the name RAOUL...
Named my son Raoul. We're Indian so he keeps getting called RaHul. It's not RA'oul either but Ra'OOL. I love the name, love the boy but not so much the literal meaning so i've taken some poetic license... I tell him it means 'wise' and 'strong' :)
My son was born in Ireland and after looking a lot for name that fits his personality we named him Raoul (3 months after he was born). He has always been happy with his name and the way we chose it. He currently lives in the US Midwest.
Well...my name is Tabatha...and I feel like everyone always spells it wrong with Tabitha, since I think it is more popular with an I. I am also Hispanic and It's a hard name to explain to the people in Argentina...so I just use Tabby. I'm usually associated with either a cat or a witch...and randomly enough, my sister's name is Sabrina. I used to hate my name when I was little because it was so rare, but now I like it a lot more, because it is UNIQUE!!! SHout-out to all the Tab's out there...rock on!!
my sons name is raul as well as his dads and quite a few of his cousins. they are of the hispanic culture we all have a name the families stick with and ours seem to be raul and jose
I love the name Raoul! Raoul and Michael have always been my favorite names, but Raoul is far less common where I live, so It's easily become my favorite. i've always heard it pronounced either ra-OOL or ra-HUL, though. I only just learned some people pronounce it "rowl". Guess there's always more to learn! ;)
I am called Raoul, but most people don't know how to write it. They always forget the 'o' in my name.
Imy name is Ralli but it comes from Normands Raoul they went to ByzantI'm early 10th centuryou.
i named my son raoul but people always pronounce it wrong and spell it wrong
People mispell and say my name wrong alot, and they get it confused with someone that has a muslim backround. Even'though I'm a plain white canadian :)
My husband's grandfather was named Raoul, he was born in Lyon, France. First name officially was Francis. Knowing that the Mexicans say RaOOL, I pronounced his name like that. I was corrected by his wife who said "no, It's ROWL." Inter'sting to see everyone's comments here!
My grandmother named my father Raoul after'she'saw a French fI'm but mispelled it on the birth certificate...Raeul. I became Raeul Jr. Most people have no idea how to pronounce it...not sure I do either. I tell people It'sounds like Paul but with an R.
I'm from Europe, the Netherlands. Raoul is not a common name there either. My father was given'that name (although he was spoken'to as "Roel"), therefore my son's second name is Raoul as well. I think It's French by origin. Jewish people also carrie the name I found out. Also populair in Hungary❤️ Very rare here as well. Don't know why my very Dutch grandmother gave this excotic name to my father . Wartime. Grandfather deported to work in Germay. Maybe she met someone❤️ Family-speculations...can't ask anymore.
I agree - alot of mispellings and mis- pronunciations! But generally people have said that it is a pleasant name...
I think It'sounds a bit to rough and I'm always hearing people pronounce it incorrectly.
I have only met two othe's with my name of Raoul, most prononce it correctly, my family come from Mexico, with spanish influence. Love my name.
The name Isn't too swell. I don't see why people make such a fuss about it. The name is over used and is not unique. It has become another trendy name. Although this is my name as well, I think the whole popularity of it is lame
i love the name its different and uncommon which i think is the way to go!
