My name is Vallie and I was born in 1978. In school I always got picked on, no one ever pronounced it correctly, always adding an "R" at the end of it. I got "DOWN IN THE VALLEY" sung to me too many times to count and asked all the time, if I was a "Valley Girl". I hated the name. I always wondered why my name could not have been something simple and ordinary, like my brother and sister's names who were Scott and Holly. When I turned 15, I had enough. I went by my middle name of Renee' for 4 years. My father picked on me for this name and called me "Rinny" and "Rinny Sue"...........I now know that he was very hurt by me dropping my first name because HE named me. Today, friends and family call me Vallie and sometimes I get called by my adult nic name of "Gracie". If I were to have had a girl, her name would have been a family name. Rachael Marie'. Simple and classic. Think twice about naming your little baby this...........it has been a terrible name for me.
My name is Valli, which is really the 1992s version of Vallie. I got a lot of "Sweet Valli, hi!" during school, which I hated, even'though I loved the book series they were alluding to. I love having a unique name. It helped me feel like a true individual, even when I was young.
How come there are no records for the 1972's❤️ That is when I was born and I am named Vallie.
My daughter is named after her great grandmother Vallie, we spell it Valeigh, and pronounce it Va-lee( with the'short a sound) We love it!!!
