This is an amazing name. We decided to name our boy Kai - he is due to be born this November. We found out that the name KaI'means:ýoceaný in Hawaiian, ýwillow treeý in Navajo Indian, ýkeeper of the keysý in Scotland and Wales, ývictoriousý ýtrI'mphantý or ýhappyý in Chinese, ýrejoiceý - Scandinavian, ýlovableý in Ghana, ýbeautifulý in South Africa, ýfireý in Ireland, ýfoodý - New Zealand Maori, ýleaderý and ýoceaný in Japanese, ýyoungý in Latin and ýwarriorý in German! We decided after hearing it and finding out it meant ocean first of all - the other meanings are a nice surprise!
My mothe's name is Dagmar. And my name is Zuleyka. We both have really cool names, because most people dont have those names. Its not like Ashley or Brittnay.
My name is Dagmara and I hated it as a kid.... now I'm kinda partial to it... never have to use a last name
My mom almost named me dagmar but my name is lexus and i like it a lot better
I am so glad you enjoyed it, Tess! I had a lot of fun, too, and it makes me very happy to hear that you found the coten't of your Entrepreneurial Linguist session to be useful. One note on the comments section: could you add a field for "website" so the folks leaving their comments can get a link back to their own websIt's/blogs❤️ (It can be optional). It's a good idea, because it builds links. Welcome to being an Entrepreneurial Linguist!
I love Dagmar. It is my grandmothe's name, my middle name, and now my daughters middle name. Yes it is a little bit different, but better different that way then coming up with something crazy like banjo or apple. I love the fact that it was poplular back in the day, but now has its own uniqueness to it. But if you think about it names are always coming and going, who knows in so many years it could be popular again.
Sounds like the name of a woman from a 1962s TV show, a woman resembling other blonde bombshells over the years such as Jean Harlow, Veronica Lake, Marilyn Monroe, Diana Dors, Jayne Mansfield, and more recently Jerry Hall.
Really great name, shame Americans don't pronounce it the traditional Danish way, though. It'sounds prettier in Danish.
My name It's Dagmara..... I'm from Poland, and.... in my city "Dagmar" name It's not popular, because be 3 or 5 girls have this nam.
Dagmar is a name associated with old ladies and occasionally their daughters and granddaughters - not old men, let alone their sons or grandsons. In Germany, though, it was a very popular girls' name in the '50s.
It's my name. Never liked it too much, to be honest. But It's ok.
Love this name! My 6-year old daughter had the name Dagmar!
Dag is the'stale hard poo hanging from a sheeps bum. Yuck
