I think that Edward is a very very special name. I don't know anybody with that name but I still like it. Actually, I first started to take notice in the name after I read the book TWILIGHT. It is a very good book and he is a very good character. Edward is a very cool name, but it also reminds me of someone who is quiet. I am thinking of, after I get married and have a boy, naming my son Edward, even'though it is a old-fashioned name. I still think it is a perfect name for a boy.
Edward is my middle name, I was named after my grandfather. Its a noble name.
I do feel that my name is rare, especially after looking at the chart above. Another indication is that none of my friends are named that. It does sound old fashioned, but I like my name because it is unique. But I do agree with one of the comments that was previously left...in that I don't like any of the nicknames to represent me. If you are going to address me by my first name, say Edward or don't say anything at all.
Edward is one of my favorite names for a boy. The only thing is if I ever had a son and named that I would just want him to be called Edward. No nicknames.
Edward is a very common name in the United Kingdom. i've taught at a boy's prepartory school for 9 years and each class has had at least one Edward in it.
I have an uncle named Edward who is very dear to me, and would love to someday name a son after him. I'm not worried about the Twilight association because I have faith that that garbage will be forgotten about before too long. :P Edward is a great name with an extensive history; don't let the latest tweenie fad ruin it for you!
My 2 yr. old son is named Edward after my favorite uncle. I am yet to meet another kid with this name. I love It's uniqueness- are any other parents out there using it for a first nane❤️
Articles like these put the consumer in the driver'seat-very imprtanot.
I have the'spanish version, Eduardo. I was named after my Spanish-Portuguese Grandfather. I hated it going through school, can't say how many times I was teased with "Edwierdo" for instance. But in college/my late teens, I really began to appreciate it for It's uniqueness and elegance! :)
I think that after Twilight, a guy called Edward will never have any trouble getting a girlfriend.
We named our son Elijah and call him Eli. We love it (obviously). Funny story. My mother-in-law is a very devout Catholic. When we told her we wanted to name our son Elijah, she wrinkled her face and said "is that Muslim❤️" :) Of course after refamiliarizing he'self with the'story she came around a bit, but I suspect she'still doesn't like it because it doesn't sound "Christian" enough :/
I like it as a name, but sadly Twilight has killed it for me. And I sincerely apologise to all those future children who's mothe's are going to name them after Edward Cullen. But yes, I agree that Edward is a nice name, but not the nicknames.
i don't really like the name Edward for a boy, but i love it as a girls name, much less common
i think that Edward is a cool name but then again in a girl woah woah woah woah woah dont take that in a bad way tee hee
