Could in some cases be the male equivalent of Ena or Enid, but Enoch is a Biblical name and the two female names have Celtic roots (but then again Ena may have instead originated as a short form of any girl's name ending in '-ena', e.g. Helena). Enoch Powell the English politician was a well-known 20th-century bearer of the name, which is at present somewhat out of fashion.
