My dad's name was Fay-born in 1918. He was a very savvy business owner. We named our youngest son Fay Joseph, after his grandfathe's. He was born in 1988-a bicentennial baby. He is very intelligent. He makes beautiful cabinetry and is a hard worker. He also had many girls that liked the way he looked. But, he was a very selective young man and waited until he found a lady that he felt he had much in common with, including faith in Jesus. Fay is an old name and having a French history meaning faith, it is an appropriate name for him.

My Grandfather was Fay Henry born in 1913, I now have a great nephew that has Fay for his middle name. My grandfather was only called Fay by his mother and I addressed my letters to him with his given name, but he was known as Hank. I am happy to have another Fay in my family line, rhymes with day, Fay with long A sound

We like Lila for our daughter. We live in Spain and whereas we will pronounce it Lila as in lilac, most people here will say Lila the'spanish way to rhyme with 'wheeler'. It doesn't matter at all to us - we already have one daughter, Iris, and that is pronounced differently here too. We kind of like that the girls will have two ways to say their names!

My partner's name is Kenneth Fay Bowers. For his entire life, he was so self-conscious about the middle name Fay that he went to great len'ths to keep anyone from knowing his middle name. He filled-out forms and signed documents simply as Ken Bowers, while omitting his middle name "Fay" entirely. He had successfully hid his full name from everyone over the years until just recently when'the DMV discovered his full name via Birth Certificate and included it on his latest Driver's License / Passport / State ID Card. He was not too happy about that. Ken Fay sounds a bit peculiar, so when I want to get his attention, I call him Kenny Fay. Either way, he does not care for the name Fay at all and would rather not acknowledge that fact or have it disclosed in his behalf.

My name is Spelled F-A-Y-E pronounced the'same way as Fay. Fay seems to me like its missing something. It'seems so short and unfinished. I love my name, I am 22, and yes the older generations love that name. Its an older name but I think it has a lot of something special. Character. The names nowadays are so plain, jennifer, and amanda, It'seems that we need more names like mine and othe's like it. I have met several people with my name, some older and a couple my age. but not in between. weird huh. I was always a bright and cheerful child and loved to make friends. So the name definately has a good follwing in my opinion, I am also Irish and German. but I am not sure if it had to do with me getting my name.

I am German, my girlfriend French and our daughter Irish (born in ireland), we need a name which can easily pronounced in French/English/Gaelic and German - Fay it was. We are very happy.

I'm a male named Fay, born in the 1930s. i've met about 40 othe's in my life. Mostly older. There was a period when Lafayette was a very "patriotic" name and both "Fay" and "Lafe" were short derivitives. Just met a young woman clerk yesterday who said her Grandfather was named Fay. I wouldn't name a guy child Fay today. Fay Vincent didn't get famous enough and Fay Jones was a unique architect. It embarasses people who see the name and just 'expect' the person they see will be a woman. When young, there were guys named Fran (Tarkinton), Shirley, Kay, etc. Today "Jan's" have the'same problem.
