We named our daughter Halley because we really loved the name (should have because it took us two weeks to name her) and we liked the'spelling. She does get called Haley alot and some people don't hear the "H" and sometimes call her Allie. We both really liked the movie Serendipidity so we stole the'spelling from the movie!
I am Hali (Hay-lee). To pronouce it Halle is incorrect and defies the rules of English. In order for it be Halle, it would have to be spelled Halli, with 2 L's. Hali only has one L. A vowel followed by a consinant with a vowel behind it, makes the first vowel long. Therefore, Hali is pronounced HAY-LEE
Daughters name is Hali. I took her name from a Greek baby names book. In that book the correct pronounciation was Hay Lee. I liked the name and the'spelling so I went with it. A goddess is what it meant.Since I had daughters it was important to find a way for their dad to be connected to their names since Jr was out, so each has 18 letters in their name and the Lee sound somewhere in the name.
For those who think Hali is pronounced H al ee it Isn't I chose the name because my best friend growing up was Hali. HALI was 100% greek. born in greece and moved to the US when she was 2. it is pronounced with the long A sound not the'short a sounds. Sorry if i burst your bubble. The other ha lee or h al ee sounds are from other areas like france. when it drives from halina the name is pronounced h uh lee not hal ee. Sorry again for those pronouncing it hal ee holly or any other way other than the 2 mentioned above.
my name is hali but it useally is speeled wrong or pronounced wrong and im named after a movie star
Sorry to burst those of you who pronounce it as Hallie, Halle, or Halley. In the Bible, Joshua 19:25, it is Hali with a long A, so it is Haylee, Hailey.
I named my daughter Hali pronounced like (H al e) just like Halle Berry. Everyone mixes her up with Hailey. She is a beautiful little girl. She is 4 and says to me that'she loves her name!
My name is Hali (pronounced Ha-Lee)but people always pronounce it "Hay-Lee". It bothe's me..but i love my name!
I like this name - its my sisters name. I have no idea why my mum spelt it like that, but I like it cuz its unique. Its easier to spell anyway...
I also pronounce my name as (Hay-Lee) and noone can say or spell my name either....they always add y even when I spell it to them....I am the oldest Hali that I know of born in 66....
My daughter is going on 13 and I wanted to spell her name Hallie, but after'she was born and I was so tired from labor, my husband looks at me while filling out her birth certificate and says I think its spelled Hali. I love the'spelling and I'm so glad that we chose this name. It is absolutely beautiful! We pronounce it Hal E. She also loves her name! HalI'marie!
My daughter is named Hali. No one gets it right. They all say Hal-lee. Reading the comment above makes me feel better because I was begining to think my wife had gotten it wrong. Hali loves her name but hates correcting people.

Hey I'm HALI too. I think it means "looking over the'sea" in Greek...and I'm pretty sure It's a greek boys name. But It's awesome and people usually remember it b/c It's unique.
my name is Hali and people always pronouce it wrong it is pronouced HAy-lee, and people always spell it wrong or are shocked, i also used to get teased at school because people thought that i just pspelt it that way to "be Cool".

I am Hali, pronounced with a short "a" (hal-ee). I am 63. Very rarely does anyone pronounce or spell my name correctly. I also answer to Hayley, Holly, Sally, Heather, Helen, Heidi, and so on... people really struggle with it. It's strange to see my name grow in popularity as it has recently.
Hi, I'm 27 (1995) and love my name, Hali. It is also pronounced like Halle Berry. My great grandmother was also named Halley which was pronounced like mine, Hali. I have never met another person with the'spelling Hali. Glad to see I'm not alone. I love my name. And I also read somewhere that it is greek and means both "Looking at the'sea" and " a precious stone".
Actually, my dog's name is Hali, but we pronounce it (Hal-ee). When people see the'spelling, they usually say (Hay-lee). I took her name from the Hawaiian version of Harry (Hale) but changed the 'E' to an 'I' because NO ONE pronounced it correctly then. I think it is a beautiful name!!
we pronounce ours kai-den or kyden but its spelt kaiden
My name is Hally, prounounced just like "Hallie" or "Sally." I get a lot of mispronuciations, including Holly (understandable - especially when handwritten, the a can look like an o) or, the one that really irritates me, "Haley." (Hay-lee) I think the thing that is the most upsetting is when people (usually males, inter'stingly), mispronounce my name, I'll let them know how It's correctly pronounced, and then'they say, "Close enough" or something like that. No......"Haley" and "Holly" are some other girls, they're not me. I'm Hally. I'll even ask then how they would like it if I called them by the wrong name, say "Jane" instead of "James" or "Mark" instead of "Mike." Somehow, they usually just don't get it. It's like, if It's a unique name It's somehow OK not to learn to pronounce it right. I think the'stupidest thing anyone ever'said to me about my name is they said, "Your name is HALLY❤️ Wow! Are You'related to Halle Berry❤️"
Well mi name is Yaritza, my mom put me this name becouse in yhe USA olmost nobody had it. But then when I'moved to Puerto rico ollot but I'mean ollot of girls had that name. Well I like my name I pronunceit in spanich like this Yah-Reet-zah.
We just named our daughter Halle and are annoyed by the number of people who prounouce it "Hay-lee." We adore the name and didn't imagine it would be so confusing.
My name is Hali...and it is pronounced (Hay-Lee) but people never'say it right...I have never met anyone with the'same spelling as me! I like that...
Many people pronounce and spell it wrong, but when i correct them, i get compliments on my name. so it has its per's. as long as you dont mind hailey being your second name, you should have no problems
