Harriet is my name and I think It's a great name! It is often spelt wrong by many people though, so I prefer the name Hattie. Still people spell it wrong. Some putting ❤️hatty❤️ or once even ❤️hati❤️. I especially love the meaning which is house ruler. This suits m great. I do not think it is old fashioned at all. I am still in primary school yet it is my namel

If I am in a crowd and someone calls out Harriet it is usually for me. i've only met a few people named Harriet throughout my 65 years. I love my name as it is not common. I was named after my paternal grandmother who went by the nickname of Hattie. My father called my Harri and nieces and nephe's call me Aunt Hari (Ha Ree).

My name is Harriet. Harriet is a very unique name. In my school I am by far the only Harriet. I don't like It'shortened because I feel it is incorrect and not accurate. Harriet is not an ugly name, it is unique, posh and lovely. I love my name very much and would not want to really be called anything else!

My name is Harriett. I was born in1969.Iwas named after my grandmotherand I always hated the name.Nobody I knew had this name and all my peers thought it was oldfashion and ugly, which made it worse. Iwas teased a lot.Everyone called me Harry or Hattie which I hated even more than Harriett.

I love this name. When I was pregnant, this was the one name for a girl my husband and I both liked and were leaning toward the'spelling Harriet (like the actress Harriet Nelson). We had a son but I still think this is the greatest name. Funny side story is that we were thinking her name would be Harriet Patricia. Patricia in honor of a dear friend of mine who died young. We also liked the nickname Hattie until someone pointed out that we could call her Hattie Pattie. Yikes.

My name is Harriet, and some people call me Hazel- It's a nice, strong name if You're calm, relaxed but ready to pounce. It has that kind of educated ring to it, not too nerdy but intelligent and bold. I'm the only Harriet that I know of in person, and I'm proud that my name can be misspelled, I get an excuse for telling people off!

My daughter is Hattie, she is aged 2 , has 3 older brothe's , so we felt a strong name was necessary. On her birth certificate she is Harriet , just to give her the choice when older, although she has only ever been known as Hattie to date. Generally we have received positive comments. I just hope she likes it when she's older. Any comments from folk with this name, should we change it through deed poll to Hattie or leave her with a Sunday name on paper ❤️

My name is Harriet, and I'm currently in high school. I love my name. I usually go by Hattie, most can't say or spell Hattie at first though (I get a lot of "Maddy" or "Patty"). While that is annoying I love the fact that I have a unique name, I haven't met a single Hattie or Harriet yet :)

I absolutely love my name. It's unusual enough that I'm the only one in the room but not so unusual that people can't spell it or give me funny looks. I can be Hattie or H or Harri if I want, but the full name is just as glorious. Also, the'solid 'T' at the end makes for a really delicious sound. Long live Harriets!

My name is Harriet. But i think its such a classic, posh name. I'd much rather be called Hattie because It'sounds less harsh. The only problem with the name Harriet is that people think they can call you harry! I'm not a boy!

This is my name and it has only been in the past few years that I have been okay with it. I hate not having a decent nickname. My friends have taken'to calling me "V" for lack of a better nickname. People ALWAYS spell it wrong. When I answer the phone at work "This is Vanessa" I usually get "oh, hi, Samantha. I need to talk to so-and-so." I'm surprised to see so many people in the 70s and 80s with this name, as it has only been recently that i've heard it. As a child, I never had anything with my name on it because it was always special order. That was such a bummer. The first time I found my name on something in the'store, I bought it.

Harriet with one T. Named after my mother's father Harry. No one ever called me Hattie. It's always misspelled with two tt's and sometimes with two tt's and an e. Yikes! More popular on the east coast of the U.S. and hardy younger than 65! I think it will come back as It's not a common name.

My real name is Harriet. My Father did not like the name much. Someone walked by the bassinet in the hospital and said that's the pink is baby i've ever'seen. Since that time I have gone as Pinky. My ancestors once owned the Poplar Neck Plantation where Harriet Tubman escaped from and was a leader in the underground railroad to free slaves. I like to think that me being named Harriet was a way for my family to say kiss off to slavery. I am now proud that I carry her name. I am 52 years old.

My baby'sister was named Harriet. Poor girl, we always teased her and called her "Henry" and "Henrietta" and "Harvey," any any other ugly name beginning with an H that we could think of. It's a most unfeminine name, and perfect if you want your kid teased through adolescence--and beyond. (We're in our 30s, and I still call my sister Henry.)

Harriet is a beautiful, classic name. I teach and you wouldn't beli've the amount of cutesy names - like Maisie, Daisy, Bella, Millie, etc. Not to say those names are bad, but they're so over'sed. Harriet is a breath of fresh air. It's strong, but also feminine. If I have a girl I will call her Harriet (and Hattie or Harry as a nn). If your name is Harriet be proud of it, It's fab!

My name is Harriet. I'm currently in my school years and I have been researching into my name. I have seen it been called ugly, spoilt, harsh but I have also seen it called strong, pretty and feminine. It has its ups and downs. I have only recently grown to the nickname Hatty, which I spell differently to most but the'spelling doesn't bother me. I have also been called H and Harri and have also seen some rather amusing spellings of my name (Harriot, Harriett, Harritte...). Despite it being rather old-fashioned I do think it has gained popularity for I have at least three other people in my generation with the name. It is quite a posh name and sometimes I find myself with quite a disliking to it but overall it just adds to who I am, I shouldn't let my name define me, for I should define it. Harriet, I guess, is a one in a million kind of name. I'm not going to throw that away.
