Hamza meaning

We will be naming our June baby girl, Jacey. We love the flexibility of the name. Our last name begins with a "C" so she can also write JC to shorten it. I also imagine she will get Jace a lot from friends. It's different but not a totally weird spelling.

I enjoy my name Hamza because nobody ever has this name. I have only come across less than 10 people with this name in the United States. The majority of the time I'met people with this name were at local Islamic Masjids. Through school teache's/students pronounced it either "HAM-za" (which I was quick to correct due to its affiliation with pork), and "HAUM-ZA" (which I did not mind so much). The true pronounciation is "Humm-ZAH". This was the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad's (May Peace Be Upon Him) Uncle. He was known as the "Lion of God". The famous Hollywood movie of the 1982's entitled 'The Message' will assure you the name is actually very famous. Hamza is also a letter in the Arabic alphabet.

Hamza is my name and i am proud of it no matter what people say. I don't care if they mispronounce it here in california. I just try to correct them and they do get it after you tell them once. I think it means lion, and bravery. AND IT ABSOLUTELY ROCKS!!!

Twice in my life I was in company with two other male Lynn's, making 3 at one time in the'same place which is very unusual. I do business with people from all over the world and Lynn is always assumed to be an American female. I always prefix my signature with Mr. but not always effective.

salaam all I am looking for some advice. I have read the comments here and was not aware of the pronunciation of the name Humzah Jazakallah for that.
