My son's name is Jalen which I love. When he was born (7 years ago) we knew no other Jalens. But now they're everywhere. I still love it. And it lends to lots of nicknames like Jay, and JJ.
Our 8 year old is named Jalen. At the time, the name wasn't very popular. We named him after the basketball player, Jalen Rose.

I totally hate the name Jaylen/Jalen'too! SOOOO many! I work at a medical office and we see a bunch of little kids. like 50% of they are named Jaden, Jaylyn, Casin, Brayden, Aiden, Calen with 100 different spellings. Come on parents, give your child a real name!
Really Really hate this name. Probably caus i no this kid called that and he is so annoying, but i think there are too many names like aiden, caden, jalen, calyn that'sound similar and it annoys me so much. Thats just my opinion though, i know heaps of people that would love it
I hope to have a son in the next two years and i've always loved the name Jalen ever'since I heard the basketball player's name "Jalen Rose". I love the name because my first name is Jacquelyn (pronounced Jack-lyn)and I think it rhymes. It's almost like naming him after me! I do however want to change the'spelling to Jalyn. It's closer to the'spelling of my own name.

i Loooooove the name Jalen! i also heard of it via Jalen Rose the basketball player. When i saw that name i knew instantly that is what i wanted to name our son :)...our Jalen is now 14 months old and the name fits him absolutely perfectly!
