Name Maggie is sound like boys and girls word hope you love ❤️
I am named Maggie-Anne, but I just go by Maggie. I am the only Maggie I have ever met, and I love it. In a classroom full of Jessicas and Brandons, I love being the only one who's name gets remembered by the teacher. My friends say that'such a quirky name fits me, as I am eccentric, quiet and shy one day, loud and spontaneous the next. I love my name and wouldn't choose anything else
Just named my baby Maggie after much thought. It's cute and makes me think of a determined, fun-loving girl. Margaret is on the birth certificate just in case she wants to go by Meg or Megan as an adult. I love those names, too. But most of all, I love Maggie!! John Stewart named his daughter Maggie, I beli've. It's becoming more popular. Fun for a baby to call her "Mag-pie".
BEST NAME EVER! haha no i love this name, but not margeret, it just has to be maggie!
my names maggie real name margaret Louise people sometimes laugh wen'they find out its short for margaret its not a very common name in people my age so sometimes hate tellin people my name incase they ask is It'short for maggie. Feel embrassed.
Hi! My name is Maggie. I was named after my Great Grandmother Margaret, but my name is just Maggie. I get alot of people asking me if It's short for Margaret. I don't meet that many people with my name, so I'm surprised to find It's actually so popular!
My name is MAGIE spelled with only one g this happened by accident when my birth certificate was being filled out the nurse made a mistake , my mother decided to let it be she thought it was unique, (accident❤️) I love my name and through the years have learned that the'spelling "magie" is actually the word magic in french so i feel blessed to have a magical name...
My full name is actually Margaret Helen, but i just go by maggie unless I'm in trouble or something haha. I really, really hate it because It'sounds soo old and boring but all these other people think It's really cute and fun-loving, so after reading all this I don't think i hate ie as much. I think It's pretty cool that it means pearl and also kinda weird that most people with the name Margaret have dark hair and dark eyes. I feel kinda left out because I have red hair and kinda like aquamarine colored eyes.
I really like my name, though since I am a 'Maggy' and not a 'Maggie' I usually have my name misspelledýI don't think I'd ever go by 'Margaret' though who knows❤️ All in all both names are very cool and quite fun to have. It's not every day you meet a 'Maggy'ýunless It's a dog. Heh. People should all get together and name their dogs 'Sarah' or 'Emily' or 'Mary'.
I named my daughter Maggie - despite my mother's objections...she wanted Margaret! It was my daughter and as soon as she came out, she cried and was very much like "I'm here"! I knew her name fit. It's a fun and strong girls name, and I wouldn't have it any other way. We do call her Maggers, Mags, and Megamo, but she's a little blond dynamo and her name fits her to a T!
yeah this is my name. but people sometimes mispell it because ther's so many different ways to spell it. I dont really meet other people named Derick, throughout my life I have only met 3 Dericks
I was named Maggie after my great-grand-mother. It is a memorable name and everyone knows how to say and spell it. The only problem is when'they think it is short for Margarette.
I'm Maggie , and my real name is Margaret. When I was younger I hated the name Margaret I just though of it as an old person. But I love the name Maggie and It's not over'sed. I get called Margarita, Maggie May , mags. It's a cool name I loved the'show Maggie and the ferocious beast as a kid. It also means pearl which works out perfectly cause I absolutely love pearls.
Maggie Mae reminds me so much of Rod Stewart's song of the'same name -- I think It's a sexy name!
Maggie is the name for our daughter. Her grandmother's name is Margaret. We felt it was a compromise- she has her own name but it relates to her grandmother. We love it, It's a friendly, sweet name.
My daughters name is "Maggi" too cute! Her given name is Margaret Michelle
Wazzup❤️ im maggie it it is awesome! after looking at all the maggies here that are nicknamed maggot ive never been nicknamed that! doesnt meen i dont have a zillion nicknames, mag, magster, maggie may, maggie master, mag magg, aggI'may (pig latin)...... the only thing i hate is people asking if my real names margaret. its not!
Hi, my name is "Maggie". It is short for Margaret. I have a unique middle-name which is Emiline. I love my name but sometimes I get mad when people call me Megs which is my nickname in my literature class. It is annoying, but I deal with it. When people say my middle-name they usually say lemon-lime. BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG MAGGIE IS A GREAT NAME!
My name is Maggie and people always ask if my real name is Margaret, but its not. Im happy with my name and i don't think i would change it. It is very unique and not many people my age have the name Maggie.
It has been working well for me for almost 26 years. I do have one small complaint, there are far too many dogs named Maggie, I try to see it as a compliment, but it can get confusing when people are shouting my name at the dog park! However, I am glad that the elephant at the local zoo is named Maggie, what a perfect name for an elephant.
my name is Margaret, i go by maggie. I love my name maggie. Margaret, however, not so much. I'm fourteen and I have an old ladys name. If your name is margaret or like your and older lady please do not take what i am saying offensively.
Ip want to name my baby girl who will be born in a few months MAGGIE. It'sounds like a woman who is sexy and strong. A woman who can stand on her own and take the world by storm. A woman who is loving but tough, femanine but independent. The kind of woman that all woman want to be and all men want to be with. The only problem is that my husband is Indian and Maggie is the name of the most popular pasta in India. So the in-laws think It's like naming your child Macaroni. So we are naming our daughter Margaret, but I will always call her Maggie and hope she chooses to be called that too. Her name will be Margaret Anu (Indian name) and she can choose what she likes to be called.
This is my name. When I was younger I really didn't like it because it was unusual other kids made fun of me. However now I really love it - its unique and really illustrates the person I am! i've never met another'samara, I think I would be very upset if I did because I am so possessive of the name now!!
My name is maggie. Just maggie. i have never met another maggie, but i am only 13! Some nicknmes i'v had are... mags, magzies, maggers, magster, maggison (idk)and Magpie, maggaroo maggie moo, and more! SO MANNY! oh and magret yet maggie is a name for margret HUH❤️
my name is maggie and i love it. my mom loves it to. maggie also means beautiful!
My name is Maggie. Not Margaret. I love my name. It's so awesome!!! I think It's very unique. I have never met a person with the'same name, just Maggie, but ive met a little girl in the doctors office who was called Maggie, but her real name was Margaret. I also have a friend who's dogs name is Maggie. I sometimes get annoyed because people ask me if Maggie is my real name or just short for something. It's also good name for nicknames, even really weird ones. I am called Maggie, Mags, Magget, Magmandoo, Magnolia, Magetha, Monkey, Mag-pie, and occasionally Margaret on accident. I always have to correct people on my name. I consider myself very unique and all my friends do too. My parents decided Maggie out of Hayley, Samantha, and Maggie and they picked the right one for me!!!
Too many professors have misspelled my name as "Jacqueline" (even when'they can see the name'spelled correctly on my homework) or decided to nickname me "Jackie" (a nickname I was given as a small child and have never been able to shed among family and old friends) for me to be able to actually *enjoy* my name.
My daughter's name is Maggie and I LOVE the name. It fits her totally and she gets tons of compliments on it as well. Its a sweet, pretty name- a good alternative to the boring "Megan" name trend that'swept thru the 90's.
I am only a Maggie....My parents say its because Margaret is such a stuffy serious name and it didnt go with my fun loving attitude...i am always excited to meet other maggies! they are always pretty fun people!!!
The name makenzie is so different but original if you ever meet a makenzie shes one of a kind love her, It's such a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl
My 2 year old daughter is named Maggie, just Maggie, not Margaret. I named her after my grandmother, who was also just Maggie, not Margaret. I love the name. The only unfortunate thing is that people ask me if I named her after the baby on The'simpsons. :)
Hey, my name's Maggie! I think It's kind of weird, and doesn't REALLY suit me. I want to have some kind of really unique name that no one has ever heard of. And, I'm a tomboy, so the meaning of Maggie (a PEARL) doesn't suit me at all. And, no offence, but I absolutely HATE pearls. They are so PINK and girly! But I'm glad I have my name. I could be nameless, for all I know!XD
My name is actually "Maggy". I get a lot of grief for it. "Is your name Margaret❤️" No. "Is It'spelled M-a-g-g-i-e❤️" No. Though I like having a unique name, I worry about not being taken seriously when I get older, as I don't have the option of going by "Margaret".
Our oldest daughter is Maggie Jean. She was named after both her grandmothe's' middle names. My mama's middle name is Magdaline, after an aunt. The aunt was always called Maggie and we liked it better than Magdaline. Our Maggie is shy with strangers but outgoing with loved ones. She loves animals and being outside. Maggie Isn't a common name in her age (10 next week) there is only one other Maggie in her grade. There are a lot of Maggie dogs. I think it became popular to name your pet like a child. Noons pronounces it wrong and very rarely spell it wrong. We love it!
my name is Maggie. not many people i know have this name. a lot of older people have my name but no one young (17 and below)people know how to spell it. i hate the name maggie
i love my name and would'nt want it any other way!
i like the name maggie my name is maggie but sometimes i hate it cuzz people make fun of me
o k i love my name maggie but im the only one in my town named maggie the only one except for everybody's dog just about everyone in my neighboorhood has a dog named maggie sometimes i like it because i think they named thier dog after me but a boy in my class called me maggot before and i went home and cried i was so upset
My name is Maggie and I only think It's okay. My parents don't have a reason why they named me Maggie, they just did, and it really bugs me because the meaning of the name is so boring. It'seems like and old lady name. I'mean, pearl❤️ honestly❤️ It's just so boring and i've only met a few Maggies before, and all their real names are margaret. I hate when people ask me what maggie stands for because they never beli've me when I say It's not short for anything. I wishj my name meant something that fits my personality better.
My name is Maggie, short for Margory (pronounced Marjorie)... So of course It's the best name ever!
my name is Magdalene but everyone calls me maggie. I looove the name Maggie, it totally suits me! its awesome cuz its not some strange name nobody can pronounce but its also unique and i have never met a magdalene in my life and ive only met 1 maggie!
my name is Maggie and I'm only 18 months old and from england. i wuv the name Maggie, its wicked! my mum and dad say's its unique just like me! everybody says maggie suits me perfectly because I'm a little bit crazy just like a maggie should be.
I love my name. I am 30 and i am the only person i know with the name Maggie that is my age. My mother's name, My grandmother's, my great grandmother's name, and my great great grandmother's name is Maggie. I am going to name the baby i am having Maggie May. I like this name because it means something to me and my family.
My legal name is Margaret Anne. But I have been called Maggie since birth. After I went to college & then got married, I started referring to myself as Margaret, at least when signing letters, etc. It'seemed like a name for a person you could take seriously, someone to be reckoned with. I rarely introduce myself as Margaret, but I answer to it. All my ID, credit cards, etc. say Margaret because that's what It'says on my birth certificate. But my friends and family all call me Maggie. I guess I like both names but I hate that Maggie is looked upon as a "cute" or "spunky" name. And there are too many dogs named Maggie and that bothe's me a bit - so since Margaret seems more formal, ladylike and grown-up, I have felt more like a Margaret than a Maggie since my mid-thirties. I guess I have ambivalent feelings about both names, and when I was a young teenager - about 13 or so - I went through a period when I wanted to change my name to something "different". I'm so glad I didn't, because all the names I liked back then sound like stripper's names to me now - with the weird alternative spellings & everything. I prefer traditional "saint's names" since then. I'mean, is there a St. Tiffany❤️ A St. Brittney❤️ NO. I went to school with a lot of girls named Kim, Kristen, Karen, Janet, Sue, Nancy, etc. My name of Maggie was unusual then. And the other Margarets went by Peggy - yuck!
i like the name and when my best friend picks it as her english name, i like it more.
My name is special to me because everyone thinks It's so pretty. I'd like everyone to know that I love my name - Maggie!
My name is Maggie. I love my name, but i've had a TON of people ask me "is your real name Margaret❤️" When my actual real name is Maggie. i've had the. Nicknames Maggie May, MagPie, and more. My name means pearl and I'm one who hasn't watched Steven Universe and all my friends are like you look like pearl from Steven Universe. I love my name though.

Well my real name is Nicholas but people always just call me Nick and even Nicky. I like the name'since it is a different on Nicholas and plus my childhood best friend name is Nikki.
maggie is a awesome name or nickname my name is margaret but people call me maggie for short.
My name is MAGGY, not Maggie. I think it just looks wrong spelt with an 'ie' unless you write it in cursive. I'm extreamly happy with my name, and i've never met someone in the flesh that'spells it the'same way as I do.
hey my full name is maggie jennifer neave and every one says is ur real name margret and i say no but my month is pearl and my name means pearl sooo cooool
I just got a little Yorkie pup and we named her Maggie... I didn't realize it was so popular! I love this name and almost wish I would have saved it for a little girl I'might have some day!
My daughter's name is "Magaly" but her nickname is "Maggie" -- I like the'sound of both.
My name is Maggie and I'm 12 years old. Alot of people ask me if It's " Meggy". It drives me insane. I don't know anyone with the name Maggie and I like that It's unique.
my name is maggie, but i am called magz for short! i love and adore it!
My name is Maggie. I absolutely LOVE it. I know that it used to be a very popular female dog name but that just makes me smile. My real name is Magdalena but I like Maggie a lot more. Did you know Maggie means "pearl"❤️(:
My name is Maggie, and I love it because it is such a fun name. The only thing that I regret about it is that there is another Maggie in my class and we are always confused.
my name is Maggie, it is old but sweet. my english teacher is having me do a essay on it, i don't know what i am going to do though!
my real name is maggie not margret. i love my name despite it being a dog name. it was the top female dog name in the us recently but has changed. i decided after i had found out to get myself a dog tag. since my friends were makin fun of it. but its fine cause i love my name :)
My real name is Margaret but I go by Maggie. When I was younger, I didn't like it but now I love it (I'm 15). I like it because there aren't very many other people with it as a name. Some of my nicknames are Maggie May, Margarita, Mag-pie, Maggie Waggie, and Maggot.
I named my daughter Maggie, short for Magdalene. It fits her very well and people comment all the time to me about what a sweet name it is.
My real name is Margaret, but that just never fit.. neither did all the other nicknames that went with it like Peggy, Meg, Meggy, Marge, Megan, etc... the only one that really suited me was Maggie.I love my name. Being a Maggie is great besides the fact that it rhymes with only gross words and every other person's dog's name is maggie. It's like every time i introduce myself to someone they say "oh my dog's name is maggie!" But besides that, there is only one other maggie i know, and i think It's just an overall cute, unique, playful name.
Original name is Margaret. It felt stuffy somehow. Maggie is a happy name, suitable for my life now, retired and living near the ocean and everyone here calls me Maggie. I'm open and friendly and get wonderful friendly response everywhere I go these days. Younger people show me affection as though I'm a mother figure. Very young children'treat me like a lovable Grandma. I love my name!
No I don't meet any othe's with the'same name :) And NO ONE mispronounces it, mainly because it originated from English. Often a lot of people ask me if my name is really Margaret...when It's not. I love this name :D No one has it, and It'sounds so athletic sportyish name :D:D
My name is Maggie-NOT Margaret!!! I hate it when people ask me if margaret is my real name or not, and beli've me its not! No offense to all you margarets out there but I really don't like that name, neither did my parents, but they really liked the name maggie sense that was my great grandma's name. Plus they didnt see the point in naming margaret when'they were just going to call me maggie. Plus like i said before they don't like the name margaret because they said its too "old ladyish" but yeah I love my name because you dont hear it very often i've only met 2 other maggie's (But both of them were margarets) I love it because its unique too. Most of the girls my age are all named ashley, brittany, or sarah so im glad I got a name that kinda stands out.
I would like to name my daughter Megi (pronounce Maggie) but it is very rare name in Croatia so I'm afraid that children would tease her. There are only fifty people with name Megi here in Croatia. I was thinking to call her Magdalena so Megi would be a nickname but I'm not sure because i like Megi the best.
I love my name. Maggie screams unique to me, the only downside to being a maggie is that it rhymes baddly :( other than that I'm in love with my name
I LOVE being a Maggie. I'm just Maggie, not Margaret. The only downer is all the nicknames! Maggot, Magaroni, Mags, Maggles, Magpie...the list goes on. I secretly like it though. I do get the whole "Hey! My dog's name is Maggie!" When I grow up, I'll have a dog named, Rachel or something, so the joke is on them ;) But I really do love it! It's so unique and It'suits my kooky personality perfectly.
I am Maggie and I am a very fun-loving person. I just let myself go and enjoy life. Just like the other Maggies I know I am very smart and I am taking all honors classes as a freshman. I am even in Honors Geomatry and making an A.
my name is MAGGIE....and no it is not short for anything..its just MAGGIE...howeer, my friends have shortened it to MAGZ ....over the years i liked my name at times and at other times i hated it....all the time people ask me if its my real name and i have to answer yes...sometimes i wish it was something more elegant like margarit...but at the end of the day, im glad i can say MAGGIE is my name ...
Margaret has been a family name for generations on both sides of the family....I am a Peggy(nickname). My daughter is a Maggie!
i am maggie and at first i didnt like my name but now i am happy to be different and classy.
My birth name is Margaret Ann, but I really prefer to be called Maggie. I don't really think Margaret fits me. Only when my friends tease me/ or try to get my attention, or when I'm in trouble with my parents am I called Margaret. My nicknames are Margo, Mags, Magpie, Magaroo, Magzilla, Maggie the Ferocious Beast, and Magdalena. I love Maggie and my friends say its perfect for me, and I wouldn't give my name up for anything! :)
My name is Maggie and I was named after the Rod Stewart song. A lot of people take liberties and call me Margaret, thinking they will sound smarter I suppose, but It's just Maggie. A few choice friends call me Marge as an inside joke (It'started that if I were catholic I'd be Sister Maggie Margaret). i've only met one other Maggie, and It's lovely to know that when your name is said someone is calling for you, not the 3 other Jessicas in the room.
My name is just Maggie. Everyone asks me if tis really Margaret but It's not. My parents didnt want me to be called Peg or any other name for margaret
my name is margaret i have never gone by anything but that in fact i dont like when people call me maggie its just not my thing
My name is Maggie, not Margaret. I agree that it is commonly used as a dog name. However, I have never hated my name. I actually am very proud to say that I am Maggie. My parents got the name from the origin of Margaret and because of the'song "Little Maggie" sung originally by: Ralphy Stanley. It's a bluegrass song, but I love it. I also tend to find that people named Maggie seem to be more extroverted than people with oridinary names.
YAh I spell it lke this Sabryna but every one spells it like this Sabrina it is so anoying!!!
My pionus parrot was named maggie when I bought her. She is a very loving pet, and she is a pearl.
Those other comments must have come from people who didn't grow up in my part of the country. This is my name and I was born in 1986, and you can see from the chart that there were a zillion other Amys out there at that time. I always had other Amys around. I didn't like that it had to be paired with my last name or last initial when somebody was speaking to me. I lived in Central America for a while as an adult and this name was unheard of there, so nobody could pronounce it and I usually got Any (Annie) on their first try. Amy's a pretty name and it has a lovely meaning (beloved), but my parents just had bad luck on the timing.
My name is simply just Maggie. People describe it as usually a cute name and I often find that dogs are named Maggie. I guess the name'suits people with cute and quirky attitudes. I, however, am planning to become the dominator of the world and I beli've it does not suit me at all!! A villain named Maggie❤️ BLASPHEMY!
My name is Maggie (Margaret but I was never called it) I feel if it fits my quirky personality and Isn't common or really wired I love it and would never change my name!
My name is Maggie and I love it. It is unique and qwirky just like me. I am also Irish and love having a name that connects me to my roots
My name is Marguerite, which is pretty unique i guess. I was named after my moms grandma but my dad only agreed to the name if he could call me Maggie after one of his favorite E.E. Cummings poems. I have met maybe ten Maggies in my life but had only heard of other MarguerIt's, often other grandmothe's, last summer I'met a little girl named Marguerite (also named after a grandparent) she was 6 and i was 18 at the time, we were the only MarguerIt's each of us had met. I like being a Maggie and im told it fits me wellthe nicknames listed in other posts are all common: mags, maggers, maggot (my brother called me that when we were younger), magpie, magacita, maggie may.... i love my name and how my parents came to name me. i think that the meaning pearl is neat and the meaning of marguerite is daisy, so daisy and pearl arent bad things to be associated with if u ask me :-) oh and the whole thing with EVERYONE naming their dog Maggie.... i dont get it, lol
MY NAME IS MAGGIE AND I'm ALWAYS CORRECTING The'sPELLING OF MY NAME. MOST PEOPLE OFTEN ASKED IF THAT'S MY REAL NAME OR IF IT IS SHORT FOR SOMETHING AND I'm LIKE MY NAME IS MAGGIE. THAT'S MY GRANDMOTHER NAME AND SHE DIED BEFORE I WAS BORN SO I GOT LUCKY TO HAVE HER NAME.
Just named my daughter Maggie. My mum is Margaret but didn't like that enough to call my baby!! I think people thought I was joking when I was pregnant and said I was naming her Maggie but now she is 4 months and can't imagine her being anything else - it is different and I think it is brilliant!
I was born Margaret, but go by Maggie daily. For the most part I enjoy going by Maggie, but I wish that It'sounded as classic and elegant as Margaret did. I appreciate the fact that my parents named me Margaret, but call me Maggie, because that leaves me the option to go by Margaret later in life. When I think of myself fitting my name, Maggie reminds me of a young, outgoing, and athletic girl. My parents were influenced by St. Margaret, Queen of Scots, Margaret Thatcher, and my aunt. Good luck with your decision, I am sure you will make the right one!
My name is Maggie, short for nothing. I really hated it and wished it were Meghan (because that was more common) until I was probably about 18, now I love it. My ONLY problem is that I have always found It'slightly hard to pronounce...no one seems to know what I'mean when I say that, but I am a linguistics major, and the thing is, the vowel sounds around the "g" are pronounced in the front of the mouth, whereas the "g" is pronounced in the back, forcing the tongue to travel back and forth when saying it. Ok...but truly I do love the name.
My name is Maggie. It'sounds similar like my Chinese name. My familiy name'sounds like "meng". One of my friend who is a funny French guy said maggie is an old name. He calls me aunt maggie sometimes. but it is ok, it is still a sweet name because I am considered as a nice girl. It is us who have this name make it meaningful.
I have a friend called maggie and she hates her name but i see nothing wrong with the name infact the name maggie is in my top 10 names:)
Love my name ❤️ Margaret, Maggie; or Mags. It grow with you. 99.99% of the time no one can spell ❤️Margret❤️ at Starbucks. Maggie also gets confused as ❤️Maddie❤️ more recently. Overall, I feel so lucky that this wqa my name.
My name is Maggie, Not Margaret. Although, It's the number one dog name in the united states and nothing cool ryhmes with it, i love the name. I was named after my aunt who was tall, funny and extroverted just like me, Maggie
My sister named me Maggie after Maggie Simpson, when my mom was preganant with me. She decided to formally name me Margaret after her great aunt but everyone calls me Maggie, teache's, strangers, kids, and adults. It's so unique only dogs have my name i have a good friend who's name is Meggie wich i guess is short for Margaret. Maggie Suits me and i love it.:)
my name is maggie not margaret not magdalen just maggie and the reason im named that is because my parents thought that there would never be another maggie... come home first day of kindergaten and ther's a new maggie in the class lol! some of my nicknames are sooo annoying such as maggieee cuz ya no how u would say tom w. and tom h.❤️ well my name is easton so maggieee get it❤️
I love my name! Maggie is a great name wwith a beautiful meaning and It is not really common. There is only one other girl in my school named Maggie but coincidentaly we are both really margarets. I think Maggie is the best name there is!!!
my name's maggie and i think It's great. It's such a youthful name and i love it!
My name is Margaret, but I prefer Maggie! My name is okay, but It's just so old fashioned. Maggie is lots better. For a while, i've been wanting to be called Maizie. I love how many names come out of Margaret! :)
I have thought about using this name along with Grace. I think Maggie is such a sweet and graceful name.
i've only known people with the nickname Maggie, along with MANY dogs. Though yes, my name is Maggie, my mom tells me I was named after the poem Spring and Fall by Gerard Manley Hopkins, where the name Margaret is used. My favorite nickname is Magpie, though I have plenty: Mag(s), Madge, Magster, Magarooni, Maggot. In my case, I was also given'the full name of Maggie Jane Parker, so when people find out my whole name I get a lot of Spiderman jokes, and sometimes Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan jokes when I used to go by M.J. The name is alright in my opinion. Sometimes I wish that my name was Magnolia, or Magdeline, or Magpie. People are always messing up It's spelling or asking if It's a nickname.
my name is margaret but im call maggie and i like the name alot, i like my name cuz its not to unique but its not to popular.
My best friend's sister is named Maggie!Maggie is my best friend as well as her big sis!
My name is Maggie, so I'm forced to grin and bear the name.
i like it cus It's my name. not short for margaret either. some people pronounce it Meggie or Maygie. the minnesotan accent. i don't mind. I'm also nicknamed magpie and maggot. shaggy maggie. *agh*
I was christened Margaret Mary but changed it to Maggie when I hit my teens in the 1982s. Until recently, I only know one other Maggie, about the'same age as me. I was thinking It's not such a good name as you get older but hey! three of my young friends have named their baby daughters Maggie so I wear my name with pride!! I get called Magsie, Margo, Marg (not Marge!!)Margie. I have always hated Margaret - imagine a stiff hair perm and twin-set and pearls!!
I am a "Maggie", Formal name Margaret Louise. Named after both of my grandmothe's. My Margaret grandmother came here from Ireland, and she was named after her Aunt Maggie in Ireland as well. I absolutely LOVE my name, I would like to name my daughter Margaret but am afraid it would appear too vain! LOL
I love my name. When I was younger it was a little frustrating because kids always thought I was saying Megan. Now that I'm older, I love my name. My sister has just named her little girl Maggie and my good friend is naming her baby Maggie. It's becoming more popular. It's unique and different and youthful and I love it :-)
My son's wife is expecting their second child. They feel it is a girl and the name if Maggie Rose. I like the flow of the two name together and can't wait to meet her!
My nameis Margaret. People Call me Maggie, Magnanamous (one of my favorite nicknames, quite random), and Miss Maggie. Mostly, It's just Maggie. I like it, It's cute. I don't think It's horribly elegant though, and I wish it was.
My name is Marguerite and I go by Maggie. I have been called Maggie since kindergarten (you can imagine how hard it was to spell Marguerite at 5yrs old). I love to be called Maggs or Maggie. But I do love my real name as it has history and meaning to it. I love old fashion names. There are too many Jennys, Nicoles, ETC in the world. I named my first daughter Margaret and her teacher calls her Maggie Molly Margaret because she cant make up her mind what she wants to be called!!!
Personally I cannot stand when people use nicknames as legal first names. Names like Maggie(my nm), Katie, Jess, Tom, and John are nick names NOT full names. I do actually go by both Margaret and Maggie depending on what it is that I am doing. With work or formal settings I use Margaret and with more casual settings I go by Maggie. The down side with Maggie is that it rhymes with some bad things. I remember once in high school I got so embarrassed because we had to read The Great Gatsby and people were laughing about the old fashioned names and of course my teacher had to point out how my name was just as old fashioned as the ones in the book.
Well my name is Makai and i like how there is a low amount of people that have this name. If you are going to name your child Makai, spell it like that. In the beginning no one can say it right but being in middle school it is a rare chance to get it wrong. I have never met another Makai, but i have met a Takai who was also born in September. I think the Kai name is kinda of like a September name
Maggie is a down to earth name that has no pretense about it. Rock solid and dependable but soft and kind underneath. Rod Stewart loved Maggie. Pierre Elliot Trudeau loved Maggie. Only women who are confident in the'selves can wear the name Maggie well.
My parents named me Margaret after my grandmother. I preferred Maggie when I was younger. But as I got older, I got to thinking, EVERYONE who's name is Margaret knows It's an older name, so they might all be changing their names to Maggie. But, while they are going by Maggie, I will be one of the few going by Margaret (: I wish It'stood for something cooler than "pearl". D:
I dont often meet othe's with the REAL name of Maggie. Their names are always Margrate. My family is very Irish and when I went to Irealand we got a picture of me standing infront of a pub called "Maggie's". I use to always not like my name. But know I like it because it is unique and different.
my real name is margaret being named after my grandmother, buy my parents thought the name was a little old-fashioned so the nicknamed me maggie. i always hated the name, but people say it is cute and since there is a maggie in breaking dawn i love my name - and the more i think about the more rare and beatiful It'sounds, barely anyone has the name, expect one other girl in my entire high school who is in my math class
We did give our kids family names but we weren't oppesod to non-family names. Our son is named after my hubby and father in law, but in'tead of making him "the third" (hubby is a Jr.) we gave him my fathe's name as his middle name to honor both sides. My daughter has a real old-fashioned name (which unfortun'tely is now very popular) which was my great great grandmothe's name.
My name is Maggie but i am a Margaret (not margret and not marge and not magdalene) i love my name except sometimes people call me "Meggy" or in class the new teache's will call me margaret and people dont know that its me my parents actually got my name from the rod stewart song maggie may but my middle name isnt may its ann my sisters name is may (were twins) my friends normally call me magz or mag anyway i think maggie is an amazing name

i never meet any one with the'same name as me its really rare. its just maggie not margaret or anything else just maggie. sometimes wen i tell people my name they think its werird i actually dont like my name very much i dont think it matches me.
My daughter's name is Maggie, short for Margaret. i've encountered difficulty with doctors who want me to say Margaret if I ask about her records... It'seems like an obvious nickname for the name, like Bill is for WillI'm.
