I am the husband of a Marcy. When we first met, part of the allure was her uncommon name, which was also easy to remember. It is also hard to be angry with somebody who has such a nice and friendly name. "Marcy!" It just sounds cute.

My name is Marcy. As a little girl growing up in Northern Canada, the name felt out of place, but I have grown to love it. I am now in my early 50's and the name is still not that common, but it is pretty and strong and all the things that I value. I am very proud to call myself Marcy and pleased that it is somewhat different from many other names for women of my generation. I like that my parents chose this name, I beleive It'suits me well and would suit many girls who are curious and willing to be the'selves.
I like this name. My aunt has this name and says she is named after a mountain with the'same name.
Like many people on here, I always felt out of place with my name growing up. Over the last 10 years I have learned to genuinely love my name. It's unique, and very rememberable. You don't meet too many of us. I always get the'same response from women who have the'same name, "'my name is Marcy too, with an ie or a y"❤️
People always spell my name wrong. Some people try to spell it with 'ie.' Then othe's use 'i,' it just gets annoying after a while. I don't meet many people with my name. i've met one girl, but her's was spelt Marcie. Then, my best friend's aunt is named Marcy, which I thought was kinda cool.
I have always liked my name because it is not very common. I think It'sounds fun but othe's have suggested that it is an old fashioned sounding name. It's nice to have a nickname as a first name too!
