I am only young, and when I was around three, my mom called me Odie bodie baby! I do not know why, she is strange. I nicknamed myself Dessy, but lots of people spell it desi. I hate that! But I just read this, and found the nickname ocean! I love it, its so beautiful. Funny, because peoplesometimes call me dolphin, I can make a noise just like a dolphin! I was in the news paper, for being the first girl to be named Odessa, in my country.People also love my name, but I dont ! I wish I was like my brother, he's Charlie. That's so common! (It means little man.) I was also named Odessa, because I travelled around the world, before I was even born!
im from Ukraine. One ukr.city called Odessa. Is strange to call someone Cityname. hello Madrid, how are you❤️ hello London, hows going ...
Our daughter (who 3 years old now) IS called Odessa. My partner is Polish (I am English myself) ❤️ so you can imagine our difficulty in finding a name we both liked (I wasn't keen on Kazimiera and she wasn't keen on Aerial). We do sometimes use the'shortened ❤️Dessa❤️, and so does our little princess. It's exotic without being too weird, and we like the positive meaning in the name book of ❤️long journey❤️ ❤️ something that we hope her life will represent. We always understood that the name was in fact from ancient Greece ❤️ and relates to Homer's Odyssey, but othe's have suggested that we named our child with a place name (mainly Polish relatives, understandably, tend to this theory). In England some of my relatives refer to the ❤️Odessa Files❤️ ❤️ both a movie, and the German Codename for an operation to smuggle WW2 war criminals to Brazil ❤️ so named, I beli've, because it DID involve a very circuitous and long journey. Wikipedia says of the town Odessa ❤️The origin of the name, or the reasons for naming the town Odessa, are not known. A legend regarding a link with the name of the ancient Greek colony persists, so there might be some truth in the oral tradition.❤️ Anyway ❤️ hear is my tribute to Odessa May who, to my ears, has the'sweetest name I have ever heard
