Ada is the pet name of Adelaide. Adelaide has Germanic roots which include two elements. One element is “adal” which means “noble” and the other one is “heid” which means ‘kind, sort’. .
The most prominent woman of the 10th century was Saint Adelaide of Italy. She was born in the present Switzerland but in that time her birthplace was part of Italy. Ada's first marriage was a political marriage but her husband died very soon after the marriage. Her husband's usurper tried to force Ada to marry his son but Ada refused. She fled that kingdom and surrounded herself to Otto the Great of Germany. Otto used this situation, conquered Italy and then went on to marry Ada. As a patron, Ada is the patron of very interesting things such as besides empresses, princesses, brides and widows, exiles, second marriages and in-law problems. Ada was loved by the people in the medieval times and her name was adopted all over Europe

We classify Ada as a turn-of-the-century charmer. In 1880, Ada was the 33rd most frequent name for girls in the U.S. However as we reached the 20th century, Ada experienced a decline and got out of the charts. By the mid-1980s, it was very rare for American families to name their children Ada. In recent years, however, thanks to the new passion of American parents regarding using old fashioned names, Ada is making a comeback. She made it to the charts 2004 and since then is moving upward. Ada still hasn't got back to her glories days but she is back under the radar of the American families.
Here are some famous people named Ada:
St. Ada (saint)
Ada Lovelace(Countess of Lovelace, mathematician, first computer programmer)
Ada de Warenne (French-English royalty)

The 5th most unpopular female name in the United Kingdom behind Gertrude in first place on the female endangered list and Ethel in third, but ahead of Norah in sixth place, Olive in seventh place, and Mabel in 10th place. However, Ada is now once more among the top 1,000 American baby girls' names but is still not in the top 800 (at least I don't think so).

My name is Ada, named after Ada Lovelace (my dad was a tech programme guy). When I lived in a non-English speaking country they'd always pronounce it "ah-dah". It's annoying but honestly, I like how unique it is lol. People always go for names like "Kate" "Caroline" "Jasmine" "Joyce" while I'm here stuck with a three-letter-name each letter pronounced in a different way.

Some boys of recent times named Adam or Oliver are so called because of having great-aunts of whomever named Ada or Olive. Adam and Oliver are the "boy" names of today (a decade or two ago, however, Oliver would have been viewed more as a "grandpa" name), and although Ada and Olive are generally seen as "grandma" names at the moment, both names are being used for young girls once again while they are still relatively unpopular. If ever I came across a man named Ada in'tead of Adam (Ada without the "m"), I'd go "Well, wouldn't you Adam and Eve it❤️".

Last popular in the 1900s and sounds fresher today than the nowadays hugely popular Ava. Names usually take FOUR generations to become cool again - at the present time It'seems like Tracy, Lisa, and Angela are the "boring" 1982s names while Susan, Linda, Janet, and Carol are the 1962s names which are mentally associated with being "parent" names, and Joyce, Joan, Betty, Eileen, Mavis, and Jean are the 1920s/30s names which "scream old and frumpy". So turning back to the 1900s or even before then would some names of that era sound fresh, new, and inter'sting again. Okay, there are some names even of THAT era - Gertrude, for instance - which sound rather disgusting, whereas Ada is not much so and, unlike Gertrude, is making a comeback (Hazel and Violet are too). The only problem is that if it continues growing in popularity it may become as popular as Ava is now - but then again, maybe Ada becoming the next "Ava" or "Ashley" may seem as unlikely as Mabel, Hilda, Dorothy, Agnes, Gertrude, and other names not even in the top 1,000 today.
My daughter's name is Ada Olivia and she is named after my grandmother. Born in 2019 she has often been confused with "Ava" due to the popularity of that name in the 2012s. She is definitely the only Ada we know that Isn't in their 90s but she loves her name.
My name is Ada and people often mispronounce it or misspell it. It's very annoying to me but I love my name.
