It has been borne by several historical figures, further ratifying its historical background.
Carrying global recognition, Alek enjoys popularity not only in Eastern Europe but also in the Western World. I am so surprised that this is such an uncommon name. My first son is named Kylan which I had never even heard of before, but is significantly more popular!
My son's name, he was born in 2013 - I named him Aleksander (I think that is the Russian or slavic way of spelling Alexander) because I like Alek better than Alex. Love the name - but most people call him Alex anyway until they see it written!
My name is actually Alekzander, but that name wasn't on'the'site, so I chose Alek. Most people call me Alek for 6 months, than all of a sudden call me Alek. I don't really go by Alekzander.
