I naively thought I'made my daughter's name up. I took the last part of Ananias (out of the Bible) and thought it would be pretty with a girls spin to it. I pronounce my 5 month old daughter's name as Uh-Ni(rhymes with High)-Uh. I think It's a very strong name and although I know people will mistake it, I think it was worth it. i've also had someone make up the meaning as "God's warrior" based on her personality and the way her mom (me) got it.
