We named our daughter Ansley Elizabeth (born 4/29/2021) and love the name. She does get called Ainsley more often'than I expected.
My husband and I decided to name our first born girl 'Anika' after we saw the famous golfer on TV in 2007. It took 7 years, but we finally got the girl of our dreams. It often gets mispronounced as "ANN-e-ka" or "An-EEE-ka". (that's why we spell it with only one N) Once I kindly correct them, they always tell me what a beautiful name it is. I just tell people that It'sounds like "Monica" without the "M". They usually get it then. All in all, it is the perfect name for such a beautiful girl. Funny that the name means "Very Beautiful" in many countries. Oddly, I didn't know that until today! Mom of Twins, KC MO
My name is Annika. I pronounce it ann-ik-a. I am always getting It'said wrong, it makes me laugh. Its a nice name, very unquie as at school i was always the only one. I think it is getting more popular. I don't like it to be shortened in any way, i don't see the need. I used to be called nik, but that just seemed to common, so i love it as it is, just Annika.
I like the name. Considering it for our child. In Hindu, named after the powerful Goddess Durga.
My name is Annika. I think its unusual, because i've never ever heard that name before. Apparently, its a good things! Oh well!
My name is Annika! It's pernounced Anne-ik-ah but people mostly call me Annie or Ann
My name is Annika. I hated my name when I was little because I could never get anything with my name on. I am 24 now and I love having an unusual name. Most people call me Anita when'they first hear it and I get loads of variations on the pronunciation. Everyone comments on it and how much they like it. I pronounce Annika A-knee-ka. I really like my name'so godbless my parents for thinking of it.
I named my daughter Anakah like Hannakah or prehaps Monica. I love her name! She is now 4 and boy did she love when'the Barbie Princess Annika movie came out. I'must admit that her name is often mispernounced. Does anyone know its meaning❤️ I have heard the meanings; very beautiful,Grace, sweetness of the face and princess but I am not sure of all the'sources.
My daughter's name is Annika (pronounced like Monica). The only reason I wish we hadn't used that name is because people mispronounce It'so often. I think It's a beautiful name, however.
I named my daughter Annika, but it is often mispronounced. Everyone wants to pronounce it On-ika or Ah-nee-ka, but we pronounce it ANN-i-ka. The whole pronunciation thing drives me nuts and I would have never named her that had I known I would be correcting people all the time. However, I think it is a beautiful name... we often call her Nikki for short.
It's my daughter's name! I think It'suits her perfectly and is a great name to name a child.
My name is Annicka and I remember as a kid I never liked my name, but now as an Adult I have yet to meet anyone with my name. There have been a few little girls I have met, since It'seems my name has grown to be a little popluar but thank God not as popular as some such as Aiden or Braylon, haha. I do also look up to the famous women with my name who all seem to be great success stories especially Annika Soren'tam!
My name is Annika, always gets mispronounced. I pronounce in Ann-ah-kuh or Ahh-nick-uh, my parents got it from Pippi Longstockings although most people assume It's from Star Wars and I'm fine with that only met 2 othe's in 42 years, but know othe's are out there.
I'm fifteen and my name is also Annika. Here in Finland it Isn't so unusual name, there are at least three girls called Annika in my school :) i like my name a lot, and when i was younger, my friends used to write my name "Annikka". Mayde because in Finland a story "Peppi Pitktossu" is very popular, and ther's a little swedish girl called Annikka. And Annika is also very popular in Sweden, many people say that I'm just like a swede, because I'm blonde and good speaking swedish ;D
We're considering this name for our baby boy. It's great!
My daughter is named Annika,we're from the mediterrean and here it is not common. I named her Annika because I wanted a name related to Anthony and I like this name but I'm not sure if we're pronouncing the name correctly we call her first letter "A" as "AH" and not as we pronounce "ANN"
umm i guess its a good name. I'mean its cute and it actually fits who i am. and it also fits with any other name, like Kelly and Geoff, or Kelly and Tyler. or Kelly and Reid. see it just fits. ;D
My daughter's name is Annika & i love that name. she is just 9 months.. hope she will love her name as she grows up... it means - grace , sweet faced, goodness has come. & it is a dutch origin name...
Well, my middle name is Verlin. My aunt always call me Verlin. But I never what it means. For this reason, I never use it. I guess is because my first is German and Berlin is the capital of Germany. So, I tried to change to Berlin. But never. I'll keep it. Thumbs Up!
I am very young of age but I know that when my baby in a few more years is born her name will be Annika, this is a very unique name
I'm another Annica, to rhyme with my mother Monica, & then somehow my sister rhymes as Emmeli, lol. I'm just shy of 28yrs old, and my name although often mispronounced still receives maybe compliments. i've had people refer to me as Annica the golfer, but more often I refer to myself as the twin to Anacin Skywalker. Its the fool proof way that people won't forget how to say my name. Last but not least, it rhymes with Danica Patrick the race car driver, which is my true passion. I love to drive & love cars! When it comes down to it, I love that the name means "favoured grace". God has blessed my life even when I rejected Him, so I can vouch that I am favoured and with grace. I LOVE my given name, and I thank my mother for it. :)
My daughter, born in 2017 is named Annika. I named her after Pippi Longstocking's friend Annika. People always ask if we named her after the famous golfer. Honestly, I didn't even know who she was at the time, as I am not a golf fan. Anyway, my daughter is also called "A-n-e-e-k-a" all of the time, but being a teacher, I just smile and say, "There are two n's in her name, not one, therefore the double consonants make the 'i' have a short 'i' sound. Hence, her name is Ann'i'(short i)ha. Also, the 'a' at the beginning of her name is pronounced /ah/." People always laugh at my longwinded explanation! I knew that it would not be an easy name to have, but once people hear it and spell it--they ALWAYS love it! ~Rachel
My 3 year old Daughter is called Anika pronounced ah nee ka. My husband is dutch but has lived in the uk for many years, when we were expecting we were sent a dutch name book from family in the hague and that is where we found the name. We have many different people pronouncing it differently which is fine, however if anyone ever calls her an i ka with a short 'i' she is the first to correct them. Haha bless. Either way it is a very beautiful name that'suits my little bloinde haired blue eyed angel perfectly and fits nicely with her unusual dutch surname.
It's my wife's name. She's Swedish. I love her, so It's OK by me!
My boyfriend and I have decided that Annika will be the name of our first daughter'some day. We both think It's a beautiful name, and though i've come to understand that it has Scandinavian roots It'seems to come up Greek, as well, which is a bonus for us.
My Beautiful Little girl that just turned 1 is named Annika Rose. We pronounce it the'swedish way like the'swedish Golfer.(Ahn-Nik-a) similar to Monica. Nicknames are contagious for this name (Ah na) like in Frozen or Annie the family calls her, and sometimes even Nik. It gives it a bit of a tomboy spunk. Ah Neek ka is in my mind is in correct. That being said, I do not live in Germany, and I do not speak the language. So it does not mean it is wrong different countries have different accents so no one is wrong.. Annika is a gorgeous name, with a great meaning, and is pretty and travels well in all languages.
ive always liked my name, and find it rathar disconcerting to be around other annikas, having grown up in canada with it, and always being original... there is a satilite orbitting the earth with my name(annika 817 i think) and there was a superstition attatched to it in the faroe islands for about 200 years. ive been'told i am but the'second generation of annikas here. i have to say tho.. that i dont exactly feel sweet faced, like my name apparently implies. or graceful. but i love my name none the less!
My daughter, who is 8, is named Annika. We chose Scandinavian names for our children since my husband is Norwegian and I am Swedish. We call her Ani for short :)
My Name is ANNIKA and i like it very much.My mom made the name up after having my two brothe's Anand and Anirood and my sister Anamekai she named me Annika so all four of our names begin with AN. When i was born Annika was not a common name.
Are all annikas blonde and blue eyed❤️ Because I am too haha. Mines spelled anneka and pronounced an nee kah. I love it and get many compliments. The only thing that's rather bothe'some is substitute teache's. Whenever we have one in school everyone looks at me knowing that the teacher is going to pronounce it wrong and they do every time. Mostly they try to say Anne a ka. Other than that though It's completely worth it. I love it!
My daughters name is Annicka Brooke. Her first name is a combination of my name Joanna and her father Nick =) Some people asked me if I named her after the girl from Pippie Longstocking lol NO!
I have a character (in my story) with this first name. Her nickname is 'Nik' throughout the tale.
I have three Daughters and was pregnant with my forth daughter I didnt expect to have a hard time finding a name for her. At first her name was Alyssa Shyanne, but when I saw her 3D photo At 6 months pregnant I knew I had to change her name. I looked and looked but I couldnt find a name then I saw the name Annikka. I loved it right away! WHY BECAUSE it had everthing I wanted. Ann=for my youngest JuliANNa. nick=for NICKI a name we all loved. and nicka=Because It'sounds lika verONICA thats me. My daughter will be naked Annika...I just can't think of a middle name...
i've had this name for 35 years. Very unique and beautiful and therefore i've been blessed. Thank you mom and dad.
My daughter is Annika Jade. She's a beautiful blue eyed, blonde haired 4 year old. I love her name, even'though she asks if she can change it all the time. I'm hoping she'll love it eventually. :) We pronounce it Ann-ika and a lot of people call her Annie Jade.
My daughter's name is Annika for our scandinavian ancestors but it is often mispronounced as Ah-neeee-ka like she is African. THey sure get suprised when'this tall skinny blonde haired beauty steps up.
Where I am, and where practically everyone else is, the only men addressed by this name are ones going by other names but who are homosexuals. This name was much, much more popular as a female name in the years between 1880 and 1930. The men - or boys back then - were named Ethelbert, which means "noble bright" in Old English. There is also the masculine name Ethelred (feminine Ethelreda), which means "noble counsel" in Old English.
My name is Annika and when ever I'meet somebody new EVERYTIME people say that it is the most beautiful name they've heard. EVERYTIME! I love my name and it is Swedish by the way. Im Norwegian but the Norwegian version of Annika is Anneke and my parents thought that people would really mispronounce it because i live in the US. So Annika is mostly Swedish but a little Dutch.
My name is Annika (pronounced Anne-ih-ka) and I don't like it very much because people always mispronounce it and that gets annoying. i've only met one other person named Annika.
I am 14 and my name is Annika (Ah nik ka) I love It. People always tell me i have a beautiful name. People always mess up my name reading it or they think I said Monica. On the flip side all the foreign kids in my class know it. It is good because there are not many Annika's. I am called Ani for short by close friends and family but there are not many nick names for Annika which i like.
My name is annika and It's not popular where i live (canada) and people always make fun of it but if they have a problem with it then'that's too bad for them because It's my name not ther's and i like it.
Annika is my name, and I think it is great. Every one calls me Annie, but I think when I get older I want people to call me Annika.
HI'my name is Annika, I absolutly love the name it is so facinating. i've done some reaserch and it meand very beautiful.
It's my name'so i've got to love it. It's difficult as a young child because kids tease you about it, but after the age of 10 It's great. Love it!
Our baby was born in Aug of 2019. My husband has always been a Pippi Longstocking fan and made me promise that when we had our first baby, if it was a girl we would name her Annika. His dreams came true and now our little Annika is very popular every where she goes. People love the name and It'seems to go with her unique little personality!
My name is Annika too, pronounced Ann-knee-ka I get alot of different nick-names Like Anakin Skywalker, Anni, Akka (little cousin can't say my name properly), and AnniCAR.. XOXO Annika
My name's Annika, pronounced ah-ni-kah, and i LOVE it.
my name is annica. when I was younger I did not like it. I wanted a commom name like tiffany or ashley. No one knows how to say it right which is always frustrating. Now that I am older I absolutely love it. It makes me different and unique and people always compliment me too. I also feel people will remember me better because of my unique name.
THIS IS MY NAME TOO! I'm 25, female, pronounced like calen-der. Everyone says it wrong but once they hear it they really like it!!
I love the name. Aside from being Unique, it has a beatiful meaning - God's Grace. That's why I named my daughter Annika. :)
My husband and I will name our daughter Annika. I love that it occurs in multiple cultures, and particularly that it is both Scandinavian and German. (I'm obsessed with Scandinavian names, and husband and I are both of strong German ancestry.) We will pronounce it "AHN-ick-ah" ("ahn" rhymes with "Ron"), but I know she'll get a lot of "ANN-ick-ah" and "ah-NEE-kah." Such is life. It's a beautiful name, and well worth some initial pronunciation errors, in my opinion. People mispronounce MY name constantly; It's survivable. :) Annika is a brilliant name...
I named my daughter Annika. She is five months old. I have loved the name for years, we are Australian, but I do have German ancestry. My daughter'suits the name, she has a sweet face, and she has blonde hair and blue eyes. I love scandanavian names, but it is surprising how many Australians have never heard of the name. I hope she loves her name as much as I do!
My husband is Scandinavian, and we have already decided that if we have another girl we will name her Annika. We like the heritage of the name, and that It's a little different.

I'm due June 28, 2021, and we're naming our child Annika. People are ALREADY wanting to call her Anniken (Skywalker) or Annie (like little orphan Annie, Grrrr!). The only other negative thing people say is "What❤️ Monica❤️ or "other kids will sing her the Hanukah song"). My husband tells them it rhymes with Harmonica. Let the fun begin!
My name is Anneka. I am 41 years old. I have been around longer than my name being really popular.
Well my name is Angeline and most people pronouce it (An-gel-leen) but it is acctually (An-gel-line) It is pronouced the way it is spelled. I love it!
My sister's name is Anja, my grandma was Anne--I am in love with Annika as a name for our daughter (I'm preggers), as it connects so nicely to both of those, giving her a 3rd generation link. Love how many people here are giving it a thumbs up! ;-) We'd pronounce it AH-nick-uh, and shorten'to "Ani."
My daughter, who is 3, is named Anneke. Since we named her that for its dutch roots I really liked that way that looked over the other 2 spellings. I hope she grows up to love her unique name. Unique but with meaning..
It's my name and I like it and get a lot of compliments on what a nice name it is, but it also gets mispronounced regularly so be careful for that!
This is the ideal answer. Evreyone should read this
Hi, My name is Annika. I never really thought that my name is very unique. I didn't even have the'slightest idea that other people have the'same name as me. Anyway, its really fun hearring people pronounce my name differently. I really liked the way they complement my name and most of the time people always say my name is unusual, but to me, it is very unique. I really am happy that my mom gave me a wonderful name. I want to tell you that I am really proud of my unique name (though its hard for other people to say it, its really fun hearing their compliments) and I am happy about it. :-) :-) :-)
I'm 25 and my name is Annika and I wouldn't change it for the world! I have been all over the world and my name always fits in well. At the moment, I'm in India and was informed today that my name is one of the many names of the Hindu goddess Durga. Durga is a powerful goddess that gets rid of all evil and upholds morality. Just thought that othe's might want to know :)

My name is Anika, pronounced (Ah-nih-kuh), and I have always loved my name. Someone will always say it wrong, but it doesn't bother me. I don't know what a good nickname would be. My sister and I are the only ones of 8 that have unique names. I don't actually know how I got my name.
My daughter is nearly 2 and is called Annika. I am from DK but live in the UK. Nowadays people call their kids all sorts of weird and wonderful things so there is no surprise or difficulty so far and everybody is complimentary about her name. And yes, she is blond and blue eyed ;}

My name is Annika( Anni-kah) I get annoyed because when people read my name out they say ah-neck-kah. Not all Annika's have blue eyes and blonde hair, I have chocolate brown hair and hazel green eyes.
I love my name. The only problem is, parents love my name'so much they name their bratty little daughters after me. One parent took my name and then almost yelled at me for having "his daughter's name." Now that disgraces the name Anika in any form.
My name is Aanika but Annika is cool too! My husband is named Anakin and it only makes me love him even more. Aanika and Anakin!!
HI'my name is Annika I love my name, ive never met a person who has the'same name except or "Annick" the closes name
My name is Annika if I had a choice to change it I would not. But it has happend alot when'they would say it wrong. I LOVE MY NAME!
My husband and I named our only daughter ANNIKA after the great golfer, Annika Soren'tam. When our daughter was born, Annika Soren'tam was the world's top female golfer. Because my husband and I love to play golf, we found it quite fitting to name our daughter after our favorite golfer.
My daughter's name is Annika (pronounced to rhyme with Monica). We love the name, and it fits her perfectly. We do get people who pronounce it incorrectly, but It's not a huge deal. Our Annika is not blond and blue eyed though, she's got dark brown hair and eyes, and beautiful light brown skin!
It's my nameee!! I love it =) Everybody name your little baby girl Annika!

Its my daughter's name pronounced AH-nick-ah in honor our our Swedish heritage. We love it and have gotten so many compliments on it.
My one year old daughters name is Annika and when I saw and heard the name, I fell in love with it. We are Norwegian and Swedish so the name well suits her. Almost everyone we meet says they just love her name and thinks It's beautiful. I hope she likes it just as much as I do.
I'm an Annika, too. The name comes from an old northern German dialectal way of saying "little Anna", Anna of course being the mother of the Virgin Mary. The well-behaved and slightly boring friend of Pippi Longstocking is also called Annika!
My daughter's name is Annikah and EVERYONE says it wrong even when I correct them they go back to saying it wrong. Her teacher has said it wrong all year even'though we both correct her... Its annoying but my daughter just let's it go if you keep doing it after'she corrects you and just let's you say it wrong. And they always spell her name wrong most of the time leaving off the h even she has a few times because her art teacher always does. I get told It's a pretty name all the time but It's annoying It's never used right.
My Name Is Annika And Something I Dislike Is That Teache's And Other People Call Me Or E-nn-ika Or U-n-ii-ka
My 8yr old is "Aniyah" (A-Ni-Ya); my 3yr old is "Annika) (A-Knee-Ka) and my next little girl will be "Anishka".. my husband is "Anthony"... weird, but cute! We love Annika's name - her middle name is "Estrella" (Star in spanish)..
My cat's name is Annica, pronounced A knee kah. She is SI'mese, so I wanted a Thai name for her, and I had a Theravadan Buddhist book with some Thai words. I chose the word anicca, mispelled it and then mispronounced it, and viola!, my cat's name. The vet assistants always mispronounce it, over and over again (they say Ah ne kah -- so irritating!). She is a beautiful cat, with a beautiful name.
Annika has been my favorite name ever'since, and when'the time comes that I'm going to have a baby, I will, without a doubt, name her, Annika. :D
I am an Anikka. I love my name. I have had many mishaps when people are trying to pronounce it but other than that, I always get compliments on how pretty it is and people are reminded of someone they know who has the name. I have found mostly that is means beautiful or sweet face. My cousin is named after me as well but they spell it, "Anika" and she goes by Niki.
