The good points of "Madeleine" - I was born in 1992 and only ever met one other Madeleine around my age - the rest were all born 10+ years later. So I was never mixed up with any other Madeleine's - there weren't any!!. - Variety of nicknames to choose from, Mad or Maddy. The bad points - Spelling and pronunciation of it were often incorrect- the'sarah's, Emma's, Rachel's and Melissa's never had this problem. - It has 9 letters - those pencilcases we used to have where you cut your name out from the'square letters and put them in the pockets on the case only ever had 8 pockets. - People would often find it hard to remember
My grandmother's name was Eddie, named after her father, Edward. She would have been Edward had she been born a boy. I think It's a great name, just because she was a great woman and the only female Eddie I ever knew!
I think "Eddie" is a sweet name for a girl. It was much more popular at the turn of the 19th century than it is today.
My name is Eddy... just here checking the comments out. I was named after my grandad Eddie. he'sadly passed 5 days before I was born. I didnt use to like my name but as i've got older I love that I can carry on some part of my grandad. It's also different, I like names that are uncommon.
I think its a strange name for a girl because so many boys ar called eddie.
