I had a dear friend that called me "Smelda". Not that I do, he just thought it was funny. I love my name.
We named our baby girl Kaia in Feb. 2017. i've had people pronounce it wrong many times or they simply leave out a letter and call her "Kia" like the car. However, we have had very positive responses and we love the name!!! I have read that it is a variation on the "Katja" which means hen and also heard the meaning stemming from "kai" for ocean in Hawaiian.
My name is Imelda, pronounced with a short "I". My nickname is Milly. When I started going to first grade in a Catholic school, the nun made me use Imelda because she'said it is a saint's name. Saint Imelda is the patron saint of First Holy Communion. Milly is the name I have answered to for many years now. By the way, I had no middle name to fall back on.

I ALWAYS have to spell my name for people. This wasn't so bad, but now I have to spell my last name, Rivera (how hard is it❤️) and my street's name. Seriously. Also, people sometimes say Amelia, even'though my name tag clearly has a 'd' in my name.
