I always liked my name, "Peter." I didn't run into a lot of Peter's as I was growing up but no one ever thought it was a "wierd" name. I liked the association with "Peter Pan" which my mother told me meant "all Peter's."
lol my friends name it peter. hes weird. but cool. yet odd. well its kinda of hard to decribe peter. you could describe him as asian!! heck yes!! lol
It's actually quite awesome because it kind of goes along with my last name dong, so I think it is awesome.
I never thought i would date someone named Peter because It'sounds like a really smarty kind of name but my boyfriends name is peter and we're going to be having a baby'soon and because of him she's going to be twice as cute! haha jk i love him like none other. he is my world. Now peter is in my everyday vocab!
I think I only like the name because it is the name of the boy I like ~Kaylah
My dad's name is Peter. It's weird. I call him Pedro and Pietro too.
I am married to a Peter, aged 33, and though there where many Peter's in my older'sister's class at school (7 yrs older), I never had one in my class. I think the name Peter may have died in the 1982's, as I haven't heard of many babies called Peter lately.
My name was once over'sed in a conversation. It went 'Hello Peter' 'Hello' 'Peter, peter peter peter peter peter' 'Yes' 'Nothing' It was rubbish
Hey, I like the name Peter/Pete, but every one I know with that name, tends to overdo it. They either work too much, drink too much, or party too much. Not sure I would choose the name.
I think "Peter" is actually a pretty great, classic name. It means "rock" or "stone", so people with that name are usually strong, wise and sometimes brave. Some of the most memorable people in history have had that name. Peter Cushing for example, who's played Van he'sing and a couple other heroic characters in horror. In fact, I'm working on a story entitled "Peter The'slayer", in which the main character'slays monsters and fights to protect mankind from the forces of evil. It's a slow process, but I'm working on it. Also, my first name is "Peter", I was named after my dad and my grandfather. My grandfather'served in the army and received a medal of honor.
I like the name Peter--It'sounds strong and wise. And the nickname "Pete" sounds like a friendly guy. We used to call an old friend "Pete the Meat"!
My brother is named Peter, the name'seems to have a soft, almost fragile connotation to it. I wouldnt call it a strong name.
I chose this name for my son because it is a classic and so many doctors, lawyers and news broadcasters are named Peter. It'signals stren'th, smarts and class. Pete is such a cute, scrappy nickname. Also, I love in the bible when Jesus renames Simon as Peter, telling him is the Rock. Classic.
my brother's name is peter park.....minus the -er at the end(like in spiderman) hehe
same my brother is peter jeff but everyone calls him pj, dont think i have ever called him peter in my life
May be declining as it is used as a synonym for penis. However, being named Peter my name hasn't been used in a derogatory manner'since childhood, as my nickname is "Big Peter". I can even attribute a few reci'ved phone numbers to my name. So name your child Big Peter and he'll get a lot of ass.
my name is peter, and i find that people say your name more than they say other ppls names becoz on some level they know its a fun good name to say
I am named Peter and was born in 1982. I agree with many of the negative connotations listed here and experienced some teasing as a kid (everything from Peter pumpkin-eater to Peter as a pseudonym for penis. HOWEVER, starting in middle school I started asking everyone to call me Pete and began to really like my name. It'seems to sound friendly, easygoing, and reliable. BTW - the bonehead above who commented "most kids named Peter'smell bad" can wet-polsh my peter...
My name is Peter and during my childhood it was really annoying. Too many things ryhmed with my name and was easy to poke fun at. Peter peter pumpkin eater is the most annoying one. Peter Pan, peter rabbit, peter cottontail , and referencing it as a males body part was extremely annoying. People who also call me Pete is a little silly to me because the name peter is already short, so I never liked it and as an adult everyone calls me Pete when I have never asked any one to call me Pete. However it is nice that I'm almost always the only peter people know, so they never have to reference my last name.
My names ETER I'm trans it.fits me nicely but when you think of a guy named Peter you think of someone kind and sweet. Peters are usually brown hair and eyes glasses and a bit wimpy.
My name is Peter and I love. It is common enough that people know it without spelling it out but at the'same time I rarely have to deal with someone else having the'same name. Also, I go by Pete in some groups and Peter in other groups, thats kinda fun too.
It's my name. A good name. Means rock, stone. I heard "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin eater" a lot when young. Irritating. Glad I'm not Peter Johnson. My Swedish middle name is Axel. That got "axle grease." Hated it then, like it now. I despise it when people say someone or something "petered out"--in my presence. Thanks a lot. I don't give up or out. I'd rather hear "petered on" but that'sounds weird. "Rock on" is better. Rock would have been a good first name.
no too much like Peter'sutcliffe, which is not o-k
Great name although in Australia lots of people have that name including my dad and about 6 other friends of the family but still a great name
Peter is one of my best buddies and i like the name! ha!
Here comes Peter on the clothes line as your neighbor hood SPIDER MAN! SPIDER MAN! Come on Lois let's get busy maybe in the garden right here SPIDER MAN! SPIDER MAN! Touch my can with your hand if you can SPIDER MAN! SPIDER MAN!!! ROCK ON!
Well Barrabas was named Jesus also so I think it is okay to name your child Jesus.
i agree peter has almost a fragile connotation, Indiana jones is an example of a strong name
