my father is named Raif, an alternate spelling, though most of his life it was spelled 'Rafe'. Sometimes people glance over the name and just think of a more common name like Ralph. So sometimes he gets called by other names. not often. I have never met anyone else with the name other than my brother, who was named after my father.

My son's name is Raif. It's a name my husband and I both fell in love with. We like unique names, but they must follow the phonics rules. We didn't want our child's name mispronounced all the time. One night, when I was pregnant, and we had yet to agree on a boy name, we were watching Pearl Harbor. You don't hear it often in the movie, but Ben Affleck's charcter's name in Rafe. Since that night we agreed that's the name we love! We liked It'spelled Raif. Same name. Different spelling. People do not have problems with pronunciation. His name always stops people in mid-sentence when'they ask his name or if I call for him, followed by: I love that name! i've never heard it before. Where'd you come up with that❤️ Then, I tell the'story how... :) I love my little Raif. Also, the meaning I found of the name is- tough, strong, manly.

My husband is named Rafe. His name is often mispronounced just like many of the othe's mentioned. The one that'stands out is "Race". He has often had it misspelled. His favorite was on a valentine in 5th grade: Rayphe. He was also named after a great uncle. He has only met one other, a young boy, while visiting in NYC. We live in Indiana. He is very proud of the name.

My name is Rafe. I often get people on the phone who struggle to pronounce it even when It's sitting on a piece of paper or screen right in front of them. Common mispronunciations i've heard are 'Raff' or 'Raffy', or sometimes 'Rafey'. I was named after one of my great uncles and have never encountered anyone else with the name though i've heard there are some writers and actors with it here and there.
