My husbands name is Shane and I just love his name. I think It's unique and a very nice (and kinda sexy!!) name. He gets called Shawn a lot though which bugs us both! The only real problem with his name is that his last name is Johnson and Shane is a form of Shawn which is a form of John so he always teases his dad that he named him "John Johnson". His parents didn't realize that it was a form of John when'they named him that. It's a wonderful name and I also love it for a girl!!!

My name is Shane and I'm currently 21. I really really like it and always have, however I don't like the 'Shayne' alternate spelling, or when It's used for females. Often I get Shawn, but It's something I'm used to. Most other'shanes in my area that i've briefly met were jer's, but I wouldn't say that for everybody. Worst I got was 'Shane the brain' or 'Shane's insane' back in elementary school, but I was uber nerdy and I'm probably a bit insane. Never'seen'the movie, but It's been on my 'to do' list for a while. I like the Irish/Western duality of the name and I just think It'sounds neat.

First of all, the name means God's grace - what can beat that❤️ Besides having this wonderful meaning, the name also has the cool factor to it. It's unique and not trendy that'll get dated. didn't want to name my son another Joshua or Ethan. But most of all, I love that it means God's grace.

My first son's name is Shane born in 2011 - named after the 1942 Western "Shane" (dad's a huge western fan...). i've only ran across a few other'shane's - not very common - but a very strong male name. I have met a Shayne...girl, though! And a Shayna.

i've always like me name "Shane". I was born at the height of It's popularity in 1984 after my Dad's favorite movie. It certainly holds up over bad 70's male names like Shannon (one of my friends). I got the usual childhood taunts as well "Shane, Come back Shane.", "Shane The Pain", "Shane The Brain" even "Shaney Wayney". i've been called Shawn so many times, i've got where I just ignore it. I still can't see how people can read it wrong, I'mean come on, S-H-A-N-E, It's so easy. i've met several other'shane's that are my age, but not many that are younger than me. I like the name'so much, I gave it as a middle name for my son.

I have been a Shane in the UK for over 28 years :) Apart from getting called "Shaun" alot by people whom seem to have a problem remembering your name (this happens alot - to a stage where i answer if someone calls me Shaun). Shane is a very unique name. Again apart from the childhood taunts of "Shane, Shane, dont leave me Shane"... I'm a male Shane, born in 1997. My mom named me after a boy she had in her kindergarten class when she was a teacher.
