My middle name is Sioayne pronounced Shayne. I'm a female and my mum is Irish...so I get tradition. ;)
I looked on the name "Shane" which has the'same pronunciation as this Shayne, think to use this better 'cause the'shane might has the meaning of violent youth as well... haha
Gets very confusing in my family. I have one brother, Shone (pronouned same as Shawn), and one sister, Shelly. Most times, I have been confused with Shone, and also had the "y" left off my name.
My nephew is SHAYNE, his mom's name is SHeri and dad's is wAYNE, they put to 2 together to make Shayne. I always thought of it as more male-ish than girlie... At any rate He likes it and thinks It's special, and I'll have to agree with the kid, I think It's cool.
I named my daughter'shayne because It's different and an awesome name for a girl. I predict in 20 years more women will have that name!
shayne is a girl namee.. fits so much better for a girlll!
I changed my name by deed-poll at the beginning of 2021, it was the best thing I ever did! I'may be female, but i've got over the fact of people pronouncing it wrong or questioning my sexuality/gender etc. I personally think its a nice name for a girl, and I definitely agree that the 'y' makes it femanine.. So why do companies and other people NEVER understand it!
my mother's name is shayne...not just a boys name!! lol
I am a female named Shayne. Since I am female, people when'they read the name, never pronounce it the way that they should. They try to make it female by say Shaynee or Cheyenne. Then when I introduce myself to people they always say Jane❤️ After it is clearly stated that It's pronounced the'same way as Shane, people think It's a nice, unusual name for a girl. I personally do not like it!!!
its nice to not have the'same name as many other people, but the 'y' is usually not remembered by most people, if they can remember 'shayne' at all. the funny thing is that i've learned to respond to john and sean. Most of the observant people quest me as to why a boy would have the 'y' in the name, because it is supposedly feminine. oh well.
most commonly people will call me "sean". Always, unless someone is very observant, will always omit the "y" from the name
my bestest friend in the world's name is shayne :) i think he loves it because It's unique :) and he's amazing :)
I'm afemale, 33 years. Lots of people spell it wrong. I pronounce It'shaynee emphasis on e like knee.I like my name.
