People both mispronounce and misspell it. My personal favorite among common misspellings i've seen is "Alien." But my name - Aline - is French, I was named after my French grandmother and have been'told by several French people I know that it is a quite common name in France. I like having an unusual name - i've never met another - and I think it is rather a pretty one, too.

The funny thing is we don't know each other but was pregnant at the'same time and both married a guy with the last name reed and named our first born michael.when I tried to get my pregnancy vitamins the pharmacy wouldn't fill them because they were already filled and picked up the'same day but it was the other tamela lol.I divorced and remarried and have never had that problem again!!! I too get my name mispronounced every where I go.

My name's Aline and I'm 15-year-old, I used to hate my name when I was a little kid, but i've grown to love it. I live in Brazil and that's a very** common name in here, but I love how It's unique in other countries. By the way, in here we pronounce it as Ah-lee-ne, which, for me, is the best way to pronounce It'since it allows you to 'feel' every single letter of the name.
