Well my name is not"yahaira" but its very similar, my name is Yllajaira. Not many people pronounce my name correctly so they choose to call me by my last name'since they give up with my first. :) Its funny but embarassing when'they pronounce it wrong they make my name'sound ugly...but I do not think its ugly I think it is very pretty! ;-)
They say "Mothe's Always Bring Extra Love", which was how the little girl in the TV series Mad About You got the name Mabel - which otherwise still makes me think of old ladies with their cardigans and teapots, their hair-dos tied in a bun, and playing mahjong with pals of theirs called Myrtle, Edna, Gladys, Hilda, Dorothy, and Agnes.
My name is Verenise and nobody ever'says it right! I always get called (Ver-Niiiice) so ugly! And I think my name is so pretty together, Brenda Verenise :(
I agree with Berenice above, I am fed up with people mispronouncing my name, they have no problem in France and other European countries and it is pronounced how it is spelt. I am 69 and have had a lifetime of correcting people. BERENICE. PS I have only met one other person with my name, I like that!
My name is Berenice and people do tend to spell it wrong because they forget the 2nd e. And I love my name. =)
I am tired of people confusing my name with "Bernice". I have had: "Baranass", "BARnees" or a plethora of other derivatives.
