As a magician I find that people often'think that the name Damien means demon, devil, antichrist...because of the Omen movies starring Gregory Peck and Leigh Remick. It's amazing how hollywood influences us and we end up believing something that is totally fictious. Personally I like the name Damien and see n'thing wrong with it whatsoever. Espeically knowing that it means sweet & harmless.
My son is being born on'the 3rd of November 2020. I have named him Damean. Since then I really see how ignorant people are. First thing they say " OH no... That movie!! My son has this name but we spelled it Daymien. I felt It'spells out much more beautifully on paper this way. No one but my mother had seemed to have a problem with it. But once he was born and the name glued on'to who he is the name is now idolized by everyone who knows him.
