I know a girl with this name. Its pronounced like D'Annette
That is my last name and i love it and am planning to name my daughter Den'tte once i have children i think it is a beautiful name
I named my first daughter Dawn Danette. She named her first daughter Britney Danette, but her mom always called her Danette. We pronounce it Da/net. Some people pronounce it Dan/et, but we don't. We had a friend who thought it was Janette, but finally after we told her enough times, she got it right. I found the name in a baby book when I was pregnant with my first daughter.
i've never personally met someone with the'same name, however a few people have told me they know another Danette. I'm often called Dante, Daneet, or Danettay. I'm often'told its pretty and I like being a Danette because It's different. Its also the name of a French pudding/yogurt brand so that's fun to tell people.
I had never really liked my name growing up because people couldn't pronounce it or my last name which is French. But as an adult I like it more and now - it just doesn't really go with my very Irish married surname!
No one has ever really heard of the name "Danette", unless you are in France. It is a very popular brand name of Yogurt in France. People very often ask for me to repeat my name, as they tend to think that I'mispronounced it thinking that it is Janette, Annette, ect.
My real name is Dannette and I have always gone by Dani. My parents have called me that'since they brought me home from the hospital. I don't know anyone else with this name. The only thing I hate is people call me Danielle not Dannette and I get mad and correct them. If people know me and they call me by my real name and I don't respond til they say Dani. I like my real name It's unique. I just prefer Dani.
My name is Den'tte and i like it. I am female and from Australa. I have also shortened my name to denni but i am always being called annetee, janette, den- net-ee. Personally i dont think the pronouncing den'tte is that hard
When I was a kid I read this name as "Kaylee." Then in college I learned about the Indian fire goddess Kali, and that's pronounced "KAH-lee." Read about the Indian Kali and you may not want your daughter named after this, although I think It's cool anyway! Cute name! I named my baby doll this when I was 9.
I like the originality dispayed by my mother when she chose this name for me. My name, however, is spelled Den'tte......even more unique! I have shortened it to DenI'many times to lessen'the'stress on someone trying to spell it, otherwise, I always go by Den'tte.
HI, MY NAME IS DANETT, I HATE WHEN PEOPLE CALL ME JANNETTE BECAUSE THATS MY GRANDMAS NAME. OR NETTY OR DUH ---NET. AHHHHHH HATE THE NAME!!! LOL YES I'm HALF FRENCH SO THATS WHY I HAVE THAT NAME.
I was looking for a name for my baby that'started with D (as my name'started with D & my husband started with D so did my 2 sons so I thought she might feel the odd one out if she didn't have D. I found Danette in a womens weekly & liked it but i spelt it Dannette (annette with a D infront).I like it & so many have commented how nice it is. Dannette is so special to me as she is my only daughter. I have only heard of one other'spelt Danette.
my name is Danette and have hated it all my life. I am in my 40's.. Hard to pronounce.. always have to correct people.. always being judged by it.. Have alot of confidence issues because of it..
My name is Danette and I hated it as a child for all the'sames reasons above - no one pronounced it properly and it embarrassed me to have to correct people. As an adult, I do get a lot of compliments on the name and that's cool. When I started bartending I started introducing myself as "Dani" because in a loud bar, the name Danette was impossible. So...now people call me both depending on where I know them from.
I love being named Danette, and like most othe's on this board, It's rare that'someone pronounces it correctly the first time. I am often amused how people get Dante, out of Danette, but oh well.
This is my name, and my twin sister is Danelle. I hear people say "What a beautiful name" but on the phone, 9 times out of 10, they say Annette, Janette or Lanette. That is the only bad part. I have to say though, that I like having a unique name, ESPECIALLY having a twin. It gives me some individuality!
i love my name, my mom used my dads and her names, Dan and Yvette
this is my name, and no one has ever mis pronounced it..it pretty much rocks
I have this name, and It's supposed to be said like Dan - ette , (My father's name is Dan) but everyone calls me Daa - net
Hi. My name is Dannette. I had always wondered the origin of my name. I now know. I am still not crazy about my name'so I go by Dani. My husband and his family and my mother's side have alsways called me Dani. My dad and step-mom's side have always calle me Dannette. Pronounced Da-Net
My french grandmother chose "Danette" for me. We pronounce it like Janette, but even'though I think it looks just like Janette with a D, people almost never pronounce it right on the first try (most often I get Danetta, Danyet, Daynet, or Danay). Otherwise I like the name and am often complimented on it, and had no taunting issues in school or anything.
My name is Dannette. I'm 53 & Yes, i've spent most of my life correcting people when'they hear Janette. It used to bother me but over time, i've learned that it opens conversation and usually a compliment which is lovely. I value my name and its meaning. Thank you Mom and Dad for my name!
My name is Danette and i've always wished my parents had gone with Amy or Sarah as they considered. To me, my name'sounds clumsy, like DUH-net. Wish I'd come up with 'Dani' like othe's have! (I'm named after my Aunt but the name Danette also hit its peak usage the year I was born, 1978).
I will never ever understand why people cannot pronounce a two syllable name, It's really not that hard. By the time I get to the'subject after the pronunciation and than the'spelling and than the reason behind why I was named this I have lost the idea of why I am even calling or having to make a statement. Very frustrating and wanted to vent on a name that was given'to me. It's really not nice to hear the comments of what othe's think of my name when its not always a positive comment. I don't like being this way but if a person calling makes such a big deal on my name and they say their name is (ex. Barry ) I say thanks Harry. Hey if you can't make your ears hear Danette than how does that feel. Most of the time I tolerate it but its painful most of the time and it does effect the mood of the conversation.
