I have only met, maybe 3 othre Fonda's. I was born in 1975 and I hated my name. I could not write an incursive "F" to save my life and cursed my mother for naming me this. I used to tell people my name was Sarah! It began to grow on me and I started getting positive reactions...but people do think they hear me wrong, I get "Saundra" or "Tamara" People sometimes want to spell it Fawanda, or even Phonda...ha-ha. I do like my name now. I had once had someone ask me if I would mind if they named their baby "Fonda". I was flattered of course. I have an last name that'sounds more like a first name and so all my life I have had people confuse my my name. When I got married, I hyphen'ted my name'so people would "get it right" now my hyphen'ted name confuses people even more since the two last names sound more like first names...the'saga continues. I thought of just changing it to one name only...but that costs too much. So, now I just give my first name, you know like "Cher". I get puzzeled looks, then I hand them my ID and they're lik oh, okay....My full name is Fonda Christy-Ali.
I know a boy named Fonda. When I first heard his name I thought people were talking about a girl but he was clearly a boy.
My name is FONDALEETTE but, I use the nickname of Fonda. I was named after my grandmother who was born in 1914..I was told It's of french origin but who knows❤️❤️..i've tried to research my name and have only come up with one other Fondaleette and a handful of Fonda's. The one Fondaleette was found in the'same area that my grandmother was born so I'm thinking, possibly, she was a family friend who my grandmother was named after❤️❤️❤️......Anyway, I love my name!..not to many people out there have it. I would love to be able to learn the'story behind this name'some day!
