I have never met another boy named Skyler. I know a girl named Skyla. But It's definitely not Skyler. It's a very unique name that most people don't know how to spell unless you pronounce it with a hard er'sound.
My name is Skyler. When I tell people my name, they spell it with an ❤️a❤️ (Skylar) and It's kinda annoying. This name makes me feel unique because I don't want a common name that everyone has. I have met one Skyler before and they were older. Being a Skyler is pretty sweet overall :)
However you choose to spell it, It's the ugliest, heaviest name i've ever heard!
It's an ok name. It's usually assumed to be a girls name, and people usually spell It'skylar, but its a decent rarity. Common enough that its not odd, but rare enough that you only meat another one once and a while.
Nothing HEAVY about this name, It is new and who wants a common every day ho hum same name everyone else has. It'sounds like a boy name. All the girls love my son's name.
We named our soon to arrive daughter Genevi've after my great grandmother and my aunt (and my niece also has the name Jenny). It's a very classical and sophisticated name of elegance to me, Gaston(pronounced the'same as in "Beauty and the Beast").
We named our son'this (born July. 3 2020. My hubby is a big baseball fan, so we named him after Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles play. I really love it!
We picked this name for our daughter and we love it. We pronounced it ay-va. But after her first week my girlfriend decided to change the pronunciation to Ah-va. We still don't agree because I continue to call her ay-va and she calls her ah-va. Not sure if I should just give up or let my daughter decide when she is old enough. Any advice.
I am Skyler. I love having a unique name. I have only met a couple other'skyler's and they have all been younger than me (I was born in '87). There are only a couple problems with this name; people will always tend to think It's Skylar (with an "a") and if you don't say it clearly enough, people will think You're saying Scott or something completely off. When I was really young people said it was a hippy name and that wasn't too pleasant. I wouldn't want any other name though, I have grown quite fond of it and makes me unique in at least one way. :)
