Hadassah is a feminine name that carries a deep connection to nature and spirituality. It is derived from the Hebrew word "hadas," which means "myrtle tree." The myrtle tree is known for its beautiful, fragrant flowers and is often associated with grace, purity, and love. In a broader sense, the name Hadassah represents a woman who is both strong and gentle, with a deep connection to her faith and the natural world.
The name Hadassah has its roots in the Hebrew language and is closely tied to the Jewish faith. It is most famously associated with the biblical figure Queen Esther, who was born with the name Hadassah. Esther was a Jewish queen of the Persian king Ahasuerus, and she played a crucial role in saving the Jewish people from persecution. The story of Esther is celebrated during the Jewish holiday of Purim, and her original name, Hadassah, has become a popular choice for Jewish girls.

My daughter name is spell Hadessah but pronounce it Ha-des-sah with the E silent.Only people that knows the biblical story about Queen Ester and that are Jewish knows where it came from. The name alone gives her an opportunity to tell how highly favor Queen Ester was of the King.
my little girl is named Hadassa without the H on the end. I pronounce it with the H silent. i dont know anyone else with this name and never have. I love that. most people pronounce it wrong but love the name.
We named our sweet baby girl Naomi, pronouncing it nay-OH-mee, the only way we'd ever heard. We had no idea what we signed up for. Apparently, many people pronounce this name nigh-OH-mee, in my experience, about 50% of the time. This happens right after i've clearly told them she is NAY-omi. "Oh! Hello Nigh-omi!" They say. I feel frustrated and disappointed. I am frustrated that people are so... lazy❤️ Deaf❤️ Inarticulate❤️❤️ What is the problem❤️ Can you say "They owe me"❤️ Then why not Nay-omee❤️ Sorry, I'm venting because of point #2, my disappointment. I'm disappointed because Naomi is, in my opinion, an unusable name, unless you are okay with constant mispronunciation. It's not as simple as a quick correction, the nigh-omi camp is not easily converted, and will continue to say it their way in spite of repeated efforts on your part. If you like the name nigh-omi just as well as nay-omi, and you feel sure that your daughter won't mind going by both names for life, then have at it. For us this is a deal breaker, we have decided to use her middle name instead.
