Iris was the Greek goddess of the rainbow. Because of that also the colored part of the eye is called 'iris'. And of course the beautiful Iris flower. Arco iris is the Spanish expression for raqinbow. Irisation also comes from 'iris' and describes a colorful shimmering... I think Iris is a most beautiful name and I love it! I'm proud of being called Iris! :-)
