If you pronounce it foreign-y like ("yawn") then YES! I know someone like this and he is g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s. It's a nice name.
mine is Jan-Paul which is a dutch name.. didn't used to like it as a child as was called Jan and told that was a girlıs name even'though its meant to be pronounced "Yahn Paal" As most people cannot pronounce it or presumed I was French (Jean-Paul) ended being called J-P which was cool but now like to be called by my real name again
Jan and Jon are very similar in pronunciation! It is the dutch form of John, Jean, Juan, Johann. It can also be short for the very popular dutch names: Johannes, Han, Hannes, Johan, Joop
It'seems like people do have trouble saying it. more of the older generation pronounce it as "yaahn" but some say it like "jahn" i prefer jan that rhymes with can, man, fan etc. when i tell other people i really have to exaggerate on the j. othe's say its a girls name which sometimes i get offended. i like my name.
