I named my daughter Linnea and we are of swedish decent. Most people say it wrong but all say is a very beautiful name
Actually, the proper'spelling in Scandinavia is Linnea (often'times with an agu over the e). The name comes from the botanist Karl Von Linneaus who had his favorite flower named after him. The Linnea flower is the national flower of Sweden. The name is very popular in Sweden.
I first saw this name in a novel when I was 10 and I fell in love with it instantly. I thought it was so beautiful and unique. i've been keeping it in mind if I ever have a daughter. I recently looked up images of the flower of the'same name, and they are gorgeous! It made me love the name even more.
My name is Linnea, after my grandmother's middle name. She and my father are from the part of Finland where they speak Swedish as a first language, which is why my name is Swedish, not Finnish. I pronounce it the traditional Swedish way, Lin-NAY-ah. Most people mispronounce it in the US. i've met 2 other Linneas in the US, which was exciting because most people I know have never known another Linnea.
this is my name but I spell it Oona. I used to be embarrassed to tell people it but I love it! Everyone loves the name and thinks its the coolest name ever! I agree!
I spell mine Lynea. It's pronounced "Lynn-nae" but everyone says "Lynn-e-ah". I know of a bunch of other Lynea's but not many that'spell it like mine
My daughter's name is Linnea....her mother is from Sweden and Linnea was born there. It's a terrific name, beautiful and phonetic in virtually every language.
I named my daughter Linnea but spelt it Lynnea instead (Luh-NAY-uh)
Hi!! My name is this! No kidding. But I spell it "Lynea". So many people say it wrong. Its so annoying! I love my name though.
Which came first, the prbloem or the'solution❤️ Luckily it doesn't matter.
My name is actually Lynnea, although the woman I'm named after'spelled it with an "i." I think It's a beautiful (often mispronounced) name!
"This is my middle name. It is odd because it rymes with my first name of Dana. Both My grandmother and my great grandmother were named Linnea, and it is cool to know I am also named Linnea one way or another!"
how do you pronounce Linnea❤️ is it Lin-nay-uh or Lin-nay ❤️
I named my daughter Linnea in 2018 (Lynn-NEE-ah). It is often mispronounced (Lin-NAY-uh or Lin-NAY) but I love it and have loved the name for over 20 years. I also considered Lydia for a slightly more common, similar sounding name. I appreciate that it is such a unique name and will likely remain that way.
My name is also Linnea but my mother'spelled it Linae ! ! My mothe's side is from Nora Sweden and she went to visit when she was 12 years old. She told me many stories of this time in her life and her memories of these flowers in the woods of Sweden. My daughter passed my name to her daughter as a middle name and I am most proud !!
The name'simplifies to "Blessing", which is, essentially, what he is to us, our family, and loved ones. My wife and I loved this name for our son as there is a Spiritual connotation with the name, but not a heavily Religous one.
Hi, my name is Linnea. Linnea (Linnea Borealis) is a flower named after the famous Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778); it is the flower of the province of Smaland in Sweden where Linnaeus was from. My father's parents came from Stockholm in Smaland in the early 1900's to Bridgeport, CT. When my parents were on their honeymoon in NYC in 1942 they passed by a window displaying Linnea Perfume, a Breadth of Old Sweden made by a company out of Chicago and my mother thought it was such a pretty name that'she tucked it away in her memory until 1948 when I was born. Unfortunately, the company is no longer in existence. Linnea is a very common name in Sweden. I have only met one other Linnea in my 61 years, but there are a few of us out there!
Linnea is my name too -and I absolutely love it! -despite some mispronunciations I always get an "how unusual -what a pretty name" also makes for a great conversation starter. I was named after my grandmother's middle name -she was born in Sweden and if I had children I too would pass it on.
I love this name as well, since it is mine, but I spell it Lennea.
The love o' my life is named Hannah, which makes it good in my book. Plus it is a beautiful name, and I'm not biased at all ;-)
