My name too...yep, always gets miss heard / spelled as lauren or Lorraine. Grew up being called Laurie, now called Laureen, Reenie or Reenu. i've met about 10 people with the'same name'spelling but I'm the first Laureen'they have ever met. I'm a 1976 baby
I'm Laureen. I, too, get compliments on my name. My father wanted to name me Lorraine after his mother Loretta, but my mother didn't want me being teased as "Quiche Loraine" so she decided on Laureen. Family call me Reen or Reenie. When I place orders over the phone I just give Lauren because It's easier. I prefer pronouncing it luh-reen opposed to lor-reen. :)
My name is Laureen, but I'm not crazy about it. I usually go by "Laurie." I don't know how my mom came up with it, but she thought It'sounded classy and graceful. 99 times out of 100 people miss that'second 'e' and go for Lauren. I think that's why I prefer Laurie. It's more casual and I don't want to feel glitzed up all the time.
Looks and sounds like a cross between Laura and Maureen. Unlike either Laura or Lauren, It's not very common, and neither is Maureen'these days (though Maureen was popular in the Fifties when Laura was infrequent and Lauren was virtually unheard of other than through Lauren Bacall, real name Betty Jean Perske and informally called 'Betty').
I was born in 1968 & my brother had a classmate named Laureen Bixby. Mom loved the name & it became mine.....not surprised as Mom heard about Laureen almost everyday of her pregnancy! In the 70s I used Lauren a lot, as most people called me that anyway. I go by laury mostly (yup, small "l"). I will not answer to Lorraine or Laura or Lau ...kinda stubborn on that. I have met maybe 10 other Laureens but most are Laureen Ann. As I go by laury, I know that I'm either in trouble (lol) or the person doesn't really know me (like a phone solicitor) when I am called Laureen.
My mothe's name is Laureen, we have never met anyone else with this name.
My name is Laureen; nickname Laurie. My parents wanted a variation of "Laura", my great-aunt's name. I was born in Chicago, IL, 1969, and have only met one other Laureen, so far. I do get compliments on my name--people say they love it! I'm used to both.
Yes, my name is payton and I am a guy. I don't know any other guys who spell it my way. People spell It wrong all the time but pronouncing it has never been a problem. People often say It's a unique way of spelling it especially for a guy. But I like my name.
my mum is called laureen also people get it mixed up with lauren

never met any one else with the'same name, was named in 1969, often mispronounced , loreen most common, but sort of have got used to my name, likethat it is a bit different.I was called this cos my mum had TB my mum knew someone whose husband died of TB ,baby was born , wanted to name it after dad who was called Lawrence but baby was a girl, hence Laureen.I am a 1969 english version.
my name Laureen is such a nice name!My nicknames are Laurie and Reenah...and i didnt have compliments about spelling but some old people calls me "lauren" thats all...
My name is Laureen..the most beautiful name ever! hehe. My mom saw the name on a game show in the '80s (when she was preggo with me) but never met anyone with my name.
My name is Laureen. I get many compliments on the name. But as a child no one pronounced or spelled it correctly, and I was shy so I'mumbled. People called me Laurie, Lorraine, Lori, Lauren, and dozens of other variations. By the time I was 7 I was asking everyone to call me Laura and no one ever made mistakes after that (except for an occasional Lora). All-in-all, Laureen is a bit hard-sounding. And so I still prefer Laura.
